COP-26: We’ll sustain support for National,International efforts on land restoration, climate change-(AUDA-NEPAD

 The National Coordinator/Chief Executive Officer, African Union Development Agency-New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD) Nigeria Princess Gloria Akobundu revealed the despite launching of grassroots project on climate friendly farming,  the agency will continue to actively participate in National and International efforts towards eradicating impact of climate change for to sustain food security under conducive and healthy climate conditions. 


In a statement issued weekend byMedia Assistant to NC/CEO, AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria  Abolade Ogundimu reiterated the Agency’s decision while  on the entourage of President Muhammadu Buhari to the 26th edition of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, going on in Glasgow,  United Kingdom. 


It will be recalled that on the 21st October, President Muhammadu Buhari launched AUDA-NEPAD Initiative to Strengthen Smallholder Farmers Capabilities Amid COVID-19 Pandemic, in Abuja to ensure food security without negative impact on the climate.


The Smallholder farmers project is in line with the Conference of Parties (COP) 26 vision to contain Climate Change for Global safety and to to promote climate friendly practices in all spheres of life. COP 26 is being hosted by United Kingdom and Italy.


The Akobundu-led AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria started preparation for effective take off of the initiative in June 2020 and inaugurated its steering committee as required by AUDA-NEPAD Continental for  interested AU Member States.


 AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria is among the first beneficiaries of the project in the sub- region, as AFR100 and Great Green Wall commended the Agency for its pragmatic and inclusive implementation of the 10-year Initiative in the Country

CSO Salutes Trump

A Civil Society Organization (CSO) under the aegis of Initiative for Leadership Development and Change (ILDC) has congratulated President Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States of America.

Chief Ugochukwu Nnam, President of the CSO said this in an interview with the Newsmen in Abuja on Monday.

He expressed optimism over improvement on not just American economy but global economy with the inauguration of Trump.

“This is a man with greater vision of making environment around him great.

“In less than few hours of his inauguration, TikTok is back into existence, this shows how he is going to revive the world economy,” he said.

The ILDC boss who reiterated his confidence in Trump’s Presidency, described him as a man of clues and ideas to drive a stable America and the world at large.

He lauded Trump’s collaboration with global entrepreneurs like Elon Musk in an effort to revitalize America’s economy.

According to him, men and women of ideas flock together, they work together for better society and this is what Trump is doing.

Recall that Donald Trump became the 47th President of the U.S by polling 312 electoral votes Vice President Kamala Harris’ 226 votes in Nov, 2024.

Following the oath of office, Trump will address the nation before he is expected to parade across town to the White House and attend three inaugural balls in the evening

About 200,000 supporters are expected to visit the city to mark the presidential transfer of power.
