CSO urged Prof. Bogoro to beware of saboteurs

The Civil Society Coalition For Transparency (CSCT) has commended the impact of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) projects in the Nigeria education section under the leadership of the Executive Secretary, Prof. Suleiman Bogoro while charging him to beware of saboteurs who may was to hinder his strides in the sector.

The group in a statement by the President, Comrade Mike Femi, at the weekend in Abuja, said the efforts of the Fund has given Nigerian tertiary education a face-lift through its various infrastructural development, thereby giving Nigerian students a more conducive learning environment.

He said President Muhammadu Buhari’s reappointment of Prof. Bogoro, as Executive Secretary TETFund is rewarding, as he has achieved a major stride in the sector as he has help re-shape and develop the nation’s education system.

He therefore called on the government to improve funding for the agency for greater performance, while calling on the executive secretary to be focus and beware of saboteurs so as not to get distracted by their activities in an attempt to frustrate his efforts.

“We consequently call on other relevant bodies in the nation’s education sector to emulate TETFund and join hands with Bogoro for better success. We no doubt believe that the administration of Prof. Suleiman Bogoro will achieve the next level agenda of Mr. President in the education sector. Because his commitment to content development, research and development in our tertiary institutions is unprecedented.

We will be working with him so as to achieve his dream for the Agency, as his vision and determination to improve the nation’s education system for better global rankings and recognition is in line with our Coalition’s key values.

Nigeria is poised to make history as it seeks to host the Centenary Commonwealth Games in 2030, a monumental opportunity that promises to transform the nation’s economy, infrastructure, and global standing.

The benefits of hosting the Games extend far beyond the sports arena. Nigeria stands to gain both empirical and non-empirical advantages, with direct, indirect, and induced impacts that will touch every corner of society. Infrastructural development will take center stage, with new facilities such as indoor sports halls, conference centers, and improved road networks reshaping urban landscapes while strengthening the nation’s capacity to host future international events.


Economic growth is another significant dividend. Over 10,000 jobs are expected to be created, spanning construction, facility management, event planning, and tourism services.

The hospitality industry will undergo major improvements as hotels and resorts are upgraded to meet international standards, while local restaurants, lounges, and tourist attractions will see a surge in patronage from international visitors. Small and medium enterprises, particularly in the transport, finance, and food service sectors, will become some of the greatest beneficiaries, as the Games generate new demand and expand opportunities for local businesses.
The Commonwealth Games will also accelerate the growth of Nigeria’s sports industry.

Investments in training facilities, coaching, and talent development will inspire a new generation of athletes, ensuring long-term benefits that extend beyond 2030, a major focus of the President Bola Tinubu administration. 
At the same time, the process of preparing for the Games will create opportunities for Nigerians to learn new crafts, acquire technical skills, and engage in global-standard event management, thereby strengthening human capacity and innovation across industries.
