Customs Men’s Team Defeat Kano Pillars 3-1, As CGC Volleyball Tourney Heats Up

The Nigeria Customs Service men’s volleyball team secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Kano Pillars on Day 2 of the ongoing 2025 CGC Volleyball Premier League (Phase 1), taking place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
In a thrilling encounter played on Sunday, Kano Pillars took an early lead by clinching the first set 25-23. However, the Customs team responded with determination and resilience, dominating the remaining sets.
They bounced back to take the second set 25-12, followed by a commanding 25-14 win in the third.
The fourth set was a tightly contested battle, but Customs held their nerve to edge it 25-23 — sealing a 3-1 comeback victory.
With this win, the Nigeria Customs team continues its strong push in the tournament, maintaining hopes of clinching the 2025 league title.
In other game played in Men Category, Correctional Service Volley al team tamed the Nigerian Police Volleyball team with 3-2 with 1st set:25-22, 2nd set: 24-26, 3rd set: 21-25, 4th set: 25-18 and 5th set ended with 17-15 to beat Nigeria Police team.
In the women category, Customs ladies show their supremacy of Benue Queens with 3-0 with, 1st set: 25-15, 2nd set: 25-21, and 3rd set: 25-9 respectively.
The Customs ladies continue to show their championship pedigree as the tournament progresses.

AACT 2026: 31 Days to Africa’s Big Sporting Gathering in Abuja

The countdown to the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) has officially entered the final month, with just 31 days to go before Africa’s leading women’s team golf championship tees off at the IBB International Golf & Country Club in Abuja.
In a statement signed by the AACT 2026Director of Communication Kayode Adeniyi on Friday in Abuja.
Under the theme “Africa Is Coming to Abuja,” the countdown campaign will spotlight the championship, the participating nations, the players, the host venue and the growing development of women’s golf across the continent.
The 2026 AACT, scheduled for November 2–7, will bring together women’s golfing talent from across Africa for six days of continental competition in Nigeria’s capital.
As preparations continue at the IBB International Golf & Country Club, attention is increasingly turning to Abuja, where the championship will provide a platform for African golfers to compete while also showcasing Nigeria’s hospitality and the country’s growing profile as a destination for major sporting events.
The countdown will feature daily stories, interviews, player and country profiles, tournament facts, behind-the-scenes updates and features on the host venue as the championship draws closer.
The campaign will also highlight the role of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN), the Local Organising Committee and other stakeholders in preparing for the continental championship.
With just 31 days remaining, anticipation is building across the African golfing community as Abuja prepares to welcome the continent’s leading women golfers.
Africa is coming to Abuja.
