Costa Rica head coach Luiz Suarez has described the newly invitee Super Eagles Right back defender Dominic Ohaka as the solution to the Super Eagles’ defense challenges

He stated this after excellent displayed of the young Player who use his energy, strength and tactic to quench the fire of Costa Rica who want to devour super eagles.

Though, Thursday morning, at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica in San Jose, the game ended 2-0 in favour of South American side, Costa Rica, but the young lad Ohaka stood tall to write his name in gold in the mind of Costa Rica fans, especially the coach.

The Performance of the Nigerian squad was widely hailed and the team’s right full back Dominic Ohaka was one of the standout performers.

And his performance did not go without the notice of the Costa Rican veteran Head Coach Luiz Fernando Suarez.

According to him, it was a very good game and we played a very physical side and both teams gave a good showing”.

“Our opponent were very physical and also have some good players especially their right full back. He was very energetic and you can see that he is a very good young talent”.

The Colombian gaffer after the game took a picture with the young Water FC Player, describing him as a future star for Nigeria.

The Player also cut the attention of many Costa Rican Journalists during their post-match review, rating him as one of the team’s top players in the match.

Costa Rica is in Group E at the World Cup in Qatar alongside Germany, Japan and Spain.

They will open their campaign against Spain at the Al Thumama Stadium in Doha on the 23rd of November.

Team Nigeria Jets to Cairo for 11th World Para Powerlifting Championships

Excitement is high as Team Nigeria’s para powerlifting contingent departed Nigeria on Tuesday, October 7, for the 11th World Para Powerlifting Championships set to take place in Cairo, Egypt, from October 9 to 18, 2025. 


The milestone event marks the first-ever World Championships to be hosted on African soil, symbolizing a new era for the sport on the continent.


The first batch of Team Nigeria athletes left the country on Tuesday amid cheers and well-wishes from officials, fans, and supporters.

The second batch of the contingent is scheduled to depart tomorrow, October 8, from Lagos, completing the full team that will represent the nation at this landmark competition.


Speaking ahead of the departure, officials expressed confidence in the team’s readiness and determination to uphold Nigeria’s longstanding reputation as a force to be reckoned with, in global para powerlifting.


The National Sports Commission (NSC) reaffirmed its full support for the athletes, emphasizing the government’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and excellence in sports.
