Ex-Mavlon Attacker Included in Squad for Europa League Tie
Former Mavlon FC winger, Shedrack Kaye, has been named in Debreceni VSC’s matchday squad for Wednesday’s UEFA Europa Confluence League clash against FC Copenhagen.
The 21-year-old Nigerian winger, known for his pace and attacking ability, joined the Hungarian club from Lagos-based Mavlon FC two years ago and has continued to make progress in his career in the Hungarian top flight.
Kaye was introduced as a substitute in the first-leg encounter in Denmark, where Debreceni suffered a 3-0 defeat to FC Copenhagen.
With the Hungarian side needing to overturn the three-goal deficit at home, Kaye is hopeful that Debreceni can produce a strong performance and secure a comeback in the third round of the continental competition.
“We lost the first leg 3-0, but all is not lost. I remain optimistic that Debreceni will approach the game with the seriousness it deserves to cancel the deficit,” Kaye said.
The former Mavlon attacker will be hoping to play a role as Debreceni seek to overturn the first-leg setback and keep their European campaign alive.
