Exceed President Tinubu’s Target- Igoche Mark Charges Kida
Basketball promoter and founder of the Mark D’ Ball Basketball Championship, Mr. Igoche Mark, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Engr. Ahmadu Musa Kida on his recent appointment as the Board Chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited.
Engr. Kida, who currently serves as the President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR on Wednesday, as part of a comprehensive reconstitution of the NNPC Limited board.
In his reaction, Mark expressed his admiration for Kida’s appointment, stating, “This is a stunning achievement for Engr. Kida. His extensive experience, capacity, and quality make him an exceptional choice for this critical role. With over forty years in the oil industry, he brings a wealth of knowledge that is invaluable.”
Mark urged Kida to leverage his background in basketball, both as a player and an administrator, to drive the NNPCL towards ambitious goals. “I encourage him to channel his passion and leadership from the basketball court into the oil sector, a familiar terrain you have operated since 1985” Mark said.
“Mr. President has set high expectations, aiming to raise oil production to two million barrels daily by 2027 and three million by 2030, along with increasing gas production to eight billion cubic feet daily by 2027 and ten billion by 2030. I have no doubt that Engr. Kida has the vision and determination to exceed these targets.”Mark stated.

Montage Community Football Tourney Registration Ends October 30

Registration for the 2026 edition of the Montage Community Football Tournament will close on Friday, October 30, organisers have announced.
The tournament coordinator, Mr Raphael Ekpang, disclosed this on Thursday, urging interested teams across the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to take advantage of the remaining days to register.
Ekpang said registration had been ongoing since Monday, encouraging eligible teams to complete the process before the deadline.
The tournament, themed “Montage FM 99.7: Empowering Youth, Uniting Communities Through Football,” is scheduled to kick off on November 3, 2026, with playoffs across the six Area Councils of the FCT.
The grand finale will hold on December 5, 2026, at the Old Parade Ground, Garki Area 10, Abuja, where the top four teams will compete for first-, second- and third-place honours.
A total of 48 teams will participate in the competition, with eight teams representing each of the six Area Councils.
The participating teams will compete for cash prizes worth over ₦2 million and other valuable rewards.
