Excitement Builds in Kaduna Ahead of National Futsal Super League Final

The Handball Court of the Murtala Mohammed Square in Kaduna will be agog on Sunday as Lalo Stars confront Emirates FA in the finals of the maiden National Futsal Super League in the men’s category.

Lalo Stars and Emirates FC have been impressive on the roads to the finals dispatching opponents with ease.

A total of 32 teams participated in the tournaments which started few days ago.

The kickoff for the encounter is slated for 3pm.

In the women’s category, YSFON Queens will trade tackles with RCCG Great Grace FC at the same venue by 1pm.

The competition designed by Galaxy 5s Global Sports and driven by its Chief Executive Officer, Shamsudeen Tijanni Yusuf has been receiving accolades from notable football stakeholders across the country and beyond as Futsal football begin to germinate in the countr.

Our correspondent gathered top official of the Nigeria Football Federation[NFF], National Sports Commission and several government functionaries from Ministry of Sports, Kaduna have signified their intention to grace the grand finale which is expected to be colourful and exhilarating.

Speaking to our correspondent ahead of the finals, Shamsudeen Tijanni Yusuf enthused that ‘’we’re ready for the finals. This maiden edition has been of tremendous success. Yes, we had a little hitches in terms of organisation but we have learnt a lot of lessons. There will be a lot of improvements in subsequent editions’’

‘’The finals will be top-notch as all hands are on deck to have a spectacular finals’’ he said

According to him, “spectators and all the teams are guaranteed adequate security as men of Nigeria Police Force and others security outfit are on ground are on ground to ensure the safety of lives and property.’’.

During the closing ceremony on Sunday, prizes and awards will be given to top athletes, officials and best teams.

Renowned academic and media professional, Austin Edemodu, PhD, has paid glowing tribute to President of Tennis Federation of Nigeria Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei as he marks his 57th birthday anniversary, describing him as a distinguished leader whose life embodies service, excellence, and integrity.

In a heartfelt birthday message titled “OLIKEZE @57,” Edemodu joined family members, friends, associates, and the sporting community in celebrating a man he described as a shining testament to visionary leadership and national development.

He prayed for greater wisdom, abundant resources, and robust health for the former lawmaker, noting that his remarkable contributions to sports, politics, and philanthropy continue to make meaningful impact across sectors.

According to Edemodu, Ochei’s leadership journey reflects uncommon dedication, patriotism, and a deep commitment to public service. He described him as an epitome of good conscience, selflessness, and pragmatism  qualities that have defined his career as a seasoned politician, accomplished engineer, lawyer, and legislator par excellence.
