Fame Foundation and the strives toward betterment of women in Sports

Sport is no doubt has the power to change millions of  lives. The ability to drive gender equality by teaching women and girls teamwork, self-reliance, resilience and confidence.


This is the reason why many individual Nigeria are striving to ensure the betterment of every women in the country.
One of the organization that is the fore front of the fighting this cause of gender equality is no other than the FAME foundation that came alive in 2019 under the able leadership of Energetic Woman with great passion for the Aderonke Ogunleye-Bello invited all stakeholders from across the sports ecosystem to be part of a powerful Dialogue under one roof and discussed how to repositioned and better equiped with the needed Knowledge that will take the Women’s game to the next level.


FAME Foundation is a gender biased organization that is striving hard to create better lives and living for Nigerian and African women and girls through our numerous and strategic projects/initiatives.


The vibrant PLAY it DREAM it, an initiative of the organization using sports for development and to advocate for the sustainable development goals since its launch in 2019 have directly and indirectly impacted over 8,700 across Nigeria.


The Foundation also, advocate for, empower, and inspire the abused, less privileged, vulnerable, ambitious, displaced women and girls through our network of partners and volunteers. And, this year, we hope to continue impacting.


The first panel will discussed, “How sports can be used as a tool for gender equality, as second panelist discussed how to develop a viable commercial blueprint for women’s football ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.


This is the 4th edition of the dialogue with theme: “Development a viable commercial and impactful blueprint for women football development.”  Where issue of gender equality in sports where discussed to the core.

Panelist also discussed how to promote women’s leadership and equality in governance models, prevent and respond to gender-based violence, close the gap in investment in women’s sport and promote equal economic opportunities, promote women’s equal participation and bias-free representation in media, and provide equal opportunities for girls in sport, physical activity and physical education. 

According to the Executive Director, FAME Foundation Ogunleye-Bello; “I am particularly elated by the fact that this event brings together all the relevant stakeholders in the Nigerian Sports ecosystem to share experience and discuss how women’s sports can be better and also, how sports can be used as a combined powerful tool to push the gender equality and equity narrative to the benefits of the Women’s game and the athletes.”

On his part, Alhassan Yakmut, a former Director-General, National Sports Commission, said there was the need to develop a viable commercial blueprint for women football in Nigeria.

He expressed that, for Nigeria to achieve this, it must concentrate on gaining more media attention, securing sponsorship, and extensive interaction with fans.

Also speaking, Leann Johnston, Charge d’ affaires, Australian High commissioner, Abuja, said that she was delighted to support the fame foundation and to promote the important role of sport in gender equality.

She said like many countries, Nigeria still had a lot of work to do in terms of women’s participation in sports, politics and many other domains.One of the panelist at the Dalouge Mrs Modupe Shabi said said the only way way to develop women league is 100 percent  grassroots.


According to her, we need to go to the nook and cranny of the Nigeria and get the best for the League.

Dare Brings Euro Scouts to Nigeria to Foster Youth Development and Talent Discovery

Immediate past Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, is sponsoring a groundbreaking football tournament aimed at showcasing young Nigerian talents to scouts from across the world.

The tournament, scheduled for October 23-24th at the Adamasingba Stadium in Ibadan, will provide aspiring footballers the chance to secure professional contracts that could transform their lives and communities.

Scouts from Israel, Romania, and Egypt are expected to attend the event, alongside representatives from Spanish giants Real Madrid and Rayo Alcobendas, further raising the stakes for these budding stars.

This initiative aligns with Dare’s passion to contribute in nurturing and developing sports talent in Nigeria, while giving.m back to society through the creation of opportunities for young people.

Organizers stated that the tournament underscores the importance of youth and sports development and the role it plays in empowering communities and fostering global opportunities for Nigerian athletes.
