FCT FA Chairman Thumbs FOSLA Academy, As Minister Of State FCT Host Champions

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Football Association (FA), under the leadership of Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed congratulates FOSLA Academy, the Champions of the National Principal’s Cup.

They emerged champions of the first National Principal’s cup which is a milestone achievement for the academy as they have been making the FCT and the entire nation proud.

In a statement signed by Media Adviser to FCT FA Chairman, Miss Uche Nwudoh on Thursday in Abuja said the Chairman is happy about the laudable achievements FOSLA Academy has been able muster in their many years of existence under leadership of Former NFF President Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi who is also the owner of the Academy.

I am happy that FOSLA Academy based in Karshi,FCT is one school that has always done us proud in sports mostly in football. The nurturing and mentoring they get helps them to cross every hurdle,i am particularly proud that the owner was a football administrator to the highest level in this country and it is safe to say the children of FOSLA Academy are in safe hands”

” I know they will continue to make us proud, hoping they will not relax and work harder to make age grade National teams as we know there are abundant talents we can get, nurture and harness from the Academy in the future”.

The Academy emerged champions in March,2021 and was hosted today by the Hon Minister of State FCT Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu ably represented by the Acting Director of FCT Sports Council Mr Luka Istifanus.

Cricket: Nigeria To Host ICC U19 Men’s World Cup Qualifier

Nigeria Cricket Federation , NCF, says it is ready to host five other nations for the International Cricket Council ,ICC, Under 19 Men’s World Cup African Qualifier.


The tournament is billed for Lagos, with the matches to be held at the cricket ovals in Tafawa Balewa Square ,TBS, and the University of Lagos ,UniLag, from March 26 to April 6.


Uyi Akpata, President of the Federation, said in a statement on Sunday, that the tournament is about celebrating the growth of the game on the continent.


“Nigeria is thrilled to welcome these talented young cricketers and their supporters to Lagos.
“Our nation is known for its warm hospitality and fascinating cricketing potential, and we are committed to making this qualifier a memorable experience for all.


“This tournament is not just about competition; it’s about celebrating the growth of cricket in Africa and inspiring the next generation of players”, Akpata noted.


However, Kenya, Uganda, Namibia, Tanzania and Sierra Leone will join Nigeria to jostle for the continent’s sole ticket to the 2026 ICC Under 19 Men’s World Cup.


Meanwhile, Nigeria will be hoping to secure the ticket, having achieved same feat in 2019 and competing at the World Cup in South Africa 2020
