FCT FA expresses Shock Over Death of Ex Referees President Tade Azeez
The FCT Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed on behalf of the FCT Football family is expressing his heartfelt condolences to the Nigeria Referees Association, the Lagos State Football Association and the immediate family of the former President of Nigeria Referee Association, Otumba Tade Azeez.
The FCT FA Chairman, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed, commiserates with the Football family and immediate family of Otunba Azeez was reported to have given up the ghost at about 2.45pm on Friday, 25th April 2025, after a brief illness at age 63.
Alhaji Adam Mouktar Muhammed described the demise of the former Vice Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association as great loss to not only football, but sports in general.
“This is coming to us in the FCT as a shock. Only a few days ago, we were mourning the death of former FIFA referee Bosede Momoh. This is not just a loss, but a heavy loss.
“All we can say is that we pray that Almighty Allah grant his soul eternal rest. Grant his family and friends, and Nigeria football’s family the fortitude to bear this great loss.” Alhaji Mouktar described the late Tade as an eminent stakeholder in Nigeria football, who during his lifetime contributed immensely to the growth and development of the game.

Montage Community Football Tourney Registration Ends October 30

Registration for the 2026 edition of the Montage Community Football Tournament will close on Friday, October 30, organisers have announced.
The tournament coordinator, Mr Raphael Ekpang, disclosed this on Thursday, urging interested teams across the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to take advantage of the remaining days to register.
Ekpang said registration had been ongoing since Monday, encouraging eligible teams to complete the process before the deadline.
The tournament, themed “Montage FM 99.7: Empowering Youth, Uniting Communities Through Football,” is scheduled to kick off on November 3, 2026, with playoffs across the six Area Councils of the FCT.
The grand finale will hold on December 5, 2026, at the Old Parade Ground, Garki Area 10, Abuja, where the top four teams will compete for first-, second- and third-place honours.
A total of 48 teams will participate in the competition, with eight teams representing each of the six Area Councils.
The participating teams will compete for cash prizes worth over ₦2 million and other valuable rewards.
