FIBA Zone 3 Qaulifier: 3 Wins in 3 Games For Nigeria Customs as They Book Semi-Finals Clash in Revenge Mission

The Nigeria Customs Women Basketball team where ruthless against the Commissioners of Liberia in their final group game of the ongoing FIBA Zone 3 Africa Women`s Basketball League with a resounding 77-18 basket points inside the SKD Gymnasium Paynesville Morovia Liberia.

The Customs Ladies, pocketing 2 hard fought victories and a semi-final slot was just to win and sit top of the group B started the game on a front foot from the jump ball like a wounded soldier dismantling the all the game plans of the Liberians women team.

The Border Girls ran out the Commissioners in each quarter and powering strong to sound a note of warning to Mountain of Fire Ministries Basketball club who finished second in the group A.

Reacting after the game, Head Coach Abdulrahman Mohammed says it`s always a good feeling when you win

“Well let me keep it short and simple, there is the feeling when you win a game, it show you got all your plans right”.

Speaking ahead of the game against Nigeria champions MFM Basketball team in the semi-final, Coach Abdulrahman says it’s a perfect chance for the team to redeem themselves after the loss in Lagos.

“We are here first to achieved our target which is to play at the main championship the African Women Basketball League where we finished 5th last year, we have a team who can get us there and the opportunity has also come for us to redeem ourselves from our lost in Lagos. I pray we pick us early like we have been doing so far in this championship”.

Saturday 9th November 2024 will be action time for the Semi-Finals as Friends Basketball Associations of Ivory Coast will take on Energie Basketball of Benin Republic while the Nigeria Derby between FIBA AWBL Zone 3 Defending Champions Nigeria Customs Service Basketball Team will take on reigning Nigeria Champions Mountain of Fire Ministries Basketball Team.

Airwarrior Basketball Club Chairman, Celebrates Sallah with Journalists in Abuja

The event, filled with camaraderie and appreciation, provided an opportunity for Alhaji Solademi to acknowledge the vital role of the media in national development and the promotion of sports in Nigeria.


In a warm gesture of unity, oneness, togetherness and goodwill, the Chairman of Air Warriors Basketball Club, Abuja, Alhaji Abddulmajid  Solademi, hosted a group of Basketball Journalists on Saturday at his residence in celebration of the Sallah festivities in Abuja.


The gathering that shows the  importance of love, peace, and unity values which is crucial not just for the advancement of basketball, but for the overall progress of the nation.


However, the Sallah is a time to reflect on our shared humanity,” he said. “It’s a moment to support one another and to uphold the values that bring us together, rather than divide us.”


Guests at the event shared stories, enjoyed meals, Asun Rice, Oriental rice,  Jollof Rice, Swallow in variety with a lot of drinks that mede them to  engaged in meaningful discussions on the development of sports in Nigeria, with a special focus on grassroots basketball.


Many attendees praised Solademi for his unwavering support for the sporting community and his ongoing commitment to using sports as a powerful tool for youth empowerment and social transformation.
