The Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria group joins millions of Nigerians in mourning the passing of Former President Muhammadu Buhari, a leader whose presence significantly influenced the trajectory of Nigeria’s modern political history.

In a statement issued by a member of the group, Edesiri Omatsola of Delta State, the group acknowledged the late president’s unwavering dedication to public service and his lifelong commitment to the Nigerian project.

“While opinions may differ on his time in office, we recognize his disciplined leadership, especially during elections in opposition-controlled states. Unlike the current administration, President Buhari did not compromise electoral integrity to favour his ruling party. His restraint was a rare show of respect for democracy and the will of the people,” the statement read.

The group further described him as a symbol of discipline, resilience, and national unity values that shaped much of his leadership approach.

Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria extends its heartfelt condolences to President Buhari’s family, close associates, and to Nigerian people at large, as the nation reflects on his legacy.

“May his soul rest in peace.
May Nigeria find healing, unity, and a renewed sense of purpose during this time.”

The group also urged current political office holders to emulate Buhari’s example by prioritizing the country’s interest above partisan politics and personal ambition.

Furthermore, Fix PDP Fix Nigeria call on the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to uphold the sanctity of democracy by ensuring that the opposition is not subjected to political intimidation, harassment, or undue pressure.

“ A true democracy thrives when dissenting voices are allowed to exist without fear. We urge President Tinubu to lead with tolerance and respect for democracy”.
