Governor Ikpeazu Preseason Tournament Gathers Support

The 2020 Governor Victor Okezie Ikpeazu Preseason Committee on Wednesday received the support of both the Abia State Secretary of the Government Barrister Chris Ezem and the Chief of Staff to the Governor Barrister ACB Agbazuere.

 

Receiving the committee members in his office, the Secretary of the Government expressed optimism on the ability of the Committee to deliver a good tournament that the Governor will be proud of. He commended the initiators of the tournament, saying that that will surely bring out the best in all the teams that would participate in the tournament.

 

Earlier the leader of the delegation, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Chief Emeka Ikwuagwu said the tournament was conceived as a way of ensuring that teams prepare adequately for the new season, moreover, after the over nine months post covid-19 break.

 

Receiving the Committee in his office, the Chief of Staff to the Governor Barrister ACB Agbazuere (PhD, Law) promised the full support of Abia state government to the Organizing Committee to ensure that a befitting tournament for the state. He also promised the total support of all friends of the Governor in ensuring the support of the tournament. He urged the committee members to work assiduously to deliver a tournament that all Abians will be proud of.

 

In each of the visits, the Secretary/Coordinator of the tournament, Patrick Ngwaogu explained the various technicalities that would be involved in the tournament which would hold from 15 to 24 November at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.

 

Teams expected at the tournament are Enyimba FC, Abia Warriors FC, Abia Comets FC, Akwa Utd, Rivers Utd, Heartland FC, Rangers International, Dakadda FC, Kwara Utd, MFM FC, and Plateau Utd
