How Tinubu, Jigawa Governor others put-off NANS’ rift

After 70 days of leadership dispute in the National Association of Nigeria Students NANS, the body made of present and past leaders has settle their rift between the two factions and has pledged to join hands together to fend for the need of over 40 million Nigeria Students.
The mediator are no other person than the APC Presidential candidate Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the Jigawa state Governor Muhammadu Badaru , the Speaker House of rep Femi Gbajabiamila, Governor of Delta state Ifeanyi Okowa as well as NANS stakeholders.
To this end, the NANS factional president Comrade Umar Farouk Lawal has stepped down to allow Comrade Umar Usman Barambu who emerged as president in the convention held in at the Old Parade ground, Area 10 Federal Capital Territory, as Inauguration hold today Thursday 10th November 2022.
Speaking on Wednesday, at World Press Conference on NANS unity, the Chairman, the Natives and promoter of peace among NANS Comrade Olalekan Smart Edwards and other leaders who facilitated the peaceful resolution thanked and all stakeholders for their role they all played in ensuring that NANS organization did not go astray.
The mechanism NANS always deploy was natives which represent all the power bloc around NANS.
According to him, May I state unequivocally that all dispute resolution mechanism were triggered and to the glory of God, all aggrieved party were brought to the table and a new course was championed for us all, it is a case of win-win for all as there was no victor no vanquished, rather, at the end of it all the victory is accrued to Nigerian students. We are very committed to running an all-inclusive government of NANS where the total welfare and well-being of every Nigeria Students both at home and in the diaspora will be of paramount interest.
“The inauguration of all new Exco member will now hold on Thursday, 10th November, 2022 at the NAF Conference Center by 11am prompt. This is the dawn of a new era and we are poised to do greater things and move our dear NANS forward, our biggest thanks goes to all Nigerian students for giving us the mandate to champion their course and by God’s grace, we will not disappoint you all.”
While speaking, Umar Faruk Lawan factional Nans President also, thanked all stakeholders saying, “I have step down, I am not doing it, because of anybody but because of the love I have for NANS.
“On that basis, I will not intervene in anything unionism, I have drop the cap, l leave my brother Comrade Umar Usman Barambu, and I wish him well.”
In his remark, the new President Comrade Barambu said NANS is a big united family and will do everything to ensure growth and development.
He however, appointed the then factional leader Comrade Lawan as head of NANS government.
