IMN: CSO Decries Incessant Violation Of Human Rights

Coalition of Civil Society Organisation (CSO) has decried the recurring violation of fundamental human rights of members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria(IMN)

Comr Mikail Yunus, the leader of the CSO warned against such violation on Saturday in Abuja at a news conference.

Members that made up the CSO are; Advocate Movement, Positive Impact Wailers Nigerian, Initiative for Conciliation and Right Protection and Centrum Initiative for Development and Fundamental Right Advocacy.

Yunus said that for the past 40 years of IMN existence, it had suffered tremendous rights violations for confronting and resisting oppression, corruption among others in the country.

He added that such suffering and persicution was done on account of IMN’s unity and its quest to protect the right of others,

According to him, in this way, the IMN suffered rights violation more than any group in this country that is why it is a focal point for rights organisation.

He stated that thousands of fundamental rights of the members of the movement had been violated,

Yunus said that the Nigerian constitution had never been silent on outlining the fundamental human rights of its citizens as codified in section 4 of the 1999 constitution as amended.

“These rights are every free citizen’s legal entitlement to enjoy without the fear of the government or other fellow citizens.

” With these rights in place, the citizen can once again enjoy the inalienable rights close to what was obtainable before in other clime,” he said.

He said that the right of members to freedom of expression, peaceful assembly and association had been hampered.

Yunus called on Nigeria government to immediately arrest and prosecute those responsible for the murder of IMN members.

CSO Salutes Trump

A Civil Society Organization (CSO) under the aegis of Initiative for Leadership Development and Change (ILDC) has congratulated President Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States of America.

Chief Ugochukwu Nnam, President of the CSO said this in an interview with the Newsmen in Abuja on Monday.

He expressed optimism over improvement on not just American economy but global economy with the inauguration of Trump.

“This is a man with greater vision of making environment around him great.

“In less than few hours of his inauguration, TikTok is back into existence, this shows how he is going to revive the world economy,” he said.

The ILDC boss who reiterated his confidence in Trump’s Presidency, described him as a man of clues and ideas to drive a stable America and the world at large.

He lauded Trump’s collaboration with global entrepreneurs like Elon Musk in an effort to revitalize America’s economy.

According to him, men and women of ideas flock together, they work together for better society and this is what Trump is doing.

Recall that Donald Trump became the 47th President of the U.S by polling 312 electoral votes Vice President Kamala Harris’ 226 votes in Nov, 2024.

Following the oath of office, Trump will address the nation before he is expected to parade across town to the White House and attend three inaugural balls in the evening

About 200,000 supporters are expected to visit the city to mark the presidential transfer of power.
