Int’l World Sports Day: Chairman House Committee on Sports Assures Nigerians Of Sports Fostering Positive Change

The Chairman House Committee on Sports, Honourable Kabiru Amadu assured Nigerians that sports under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will bring smiles to the faces of the citizens.
The Honourable representing Gusau/Tsafe Federal constituency in the House of Representatives said the Federal Government investment in sports will bring back the good old days when the most populous African country dominated at the international competitions.
He said, “As we mark the International Day of Sports today, we like to recognize the power of sports in fostering positive change, bridging barriers and unifying factor of the country.
“This day is joy just a celebration but also an opportunity to bring attention to the achievements of our athletes and inspire the new generation to achieve better results than what we have in the past”.
He commended President Bola Tinubu for significantly increasing the budget for the National Sports Commission in 2025.
He said, “We must applaud President Bola Tinubu for increasing the budget for Sports in 2025 to N94 billion. This, no doubt, will help sports grow which will reflect in the country’s performance at international competitions”.
Amadu expressed confidence that the Super Eagles can qualify for the 2026FIFA World Cup co-hosted by USA, Canada, and Mexico.
He added, “As for football, despite not-too-good performance, we, at the national assembly still believe that the Super Eagles can still qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.” Mai Palace as he is fondly called by his admirers said.

From Streets to Stardom: Unique Futbol Academy Scouting Program Inspires Ibadan’s Young Footballers
Ibadan is buzzing with excitement as the Unique Football Academy Scouting Program kicks off, bringing together top European football clubs and talented young Nigerian players.
The four-day program, which commenced on Monday, features a delegation of four directors from prominent European teams, including two from Kosovo and one from India, led by renowned football agent Diego Martins from Portugal.
The scouting program aims to identify and select outstanding players who will be given opportunities to showcase their skills in Europe.
Successful players will be offered the chance to take their careers to the next level, with the organizers assuring them of opportunities abroad.
According to the Director of the program and founder of Unique Football Academy, Mr. Jelil Oladimeji, this is not the first time the academy has organized such an event.
“This is the 4th edition, and we are proud of the progress and impact we have made so far in terms of exposing our raw talent to the European market,” he said.
The program has already proven successful, with several players from previous editions going on to excel in European leagues. Some notable examples include Haruna Saleh with PAOK in Greece and Praisegod Emersons in Slovakia.
As the program continues, clubs are gearing up to exhibit their talents, and the future looks bright for Nigeria’s young football stars.
