Kangiwa Pledges Support To Servicom For Effective Service Delivery At NIHOTOUR

The Director General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), Alhaji Nura Sani Kangiwa has pledged the commitment of his administration to support SERVICOM in the effective service delivery of the core mandate of the Institute.

Kangiwa who made the pledge during the inauguration of the NIHOTOUR Unit of Service Compact with all Nigerians, said SERVICOM remains a critical value chain in the effective and efficient service delivery that meets the yearnings and aspirations of the Nigerian citizens, noting that the people deserve better quality service which SERVICOM was meant to mitigate in fulfilling the compact government has with the people.

He said the onus is on all MDAs as public institutions to ensure that people get the best of service they deserve from all segments of governance as a way to better the lives and living conditions of the Nigerian people and called on all hands to be on deck to carry out the mandate of NIHOTOUR as the apex public Travel Tourism and Hospitality training Institute in the country to move the industry to the next level.

Mrs. Akajemeli noted that SERVICOM is a vital and critical value chain in ensuring that MDAs give quality services that the people deserve as well as make the people demand the best services they need and expect from government via mitigations that ensure the best for government and the governed in balancing a healthy relationship that promotes harmony.

She called on the members sworn in as touch bearers of SERVICOM in NIHOTOUR to live above board in ensuring that the Institute gives the best service delivery to its customers in line with its core mandate and to the satisfaction of the benefiting populace.

NTDA, NIHOTOUR Strengthen Partnership at Joint Management Retreat

The Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) and the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) recently held a joint management retreat at Ibeto Hotel, Abuja. The retreat brought together key management officials from both agencies to foster collaboration, address industry challenges, and develop strategies for advancing Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality sector.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General of NIHOTOUR, Aare Dr. Abisoye Fagade, expressed excitement about the retreat and urged management staff of both agencies to engage in meaningful discussions to find lasting solutions to shared challenges. “We need to focus on strengthening inter-agency synergy between NTDA and NIHOTOUR”, he said. He also emphasized on the importance of teamwork in achieving sustainable growth for the sector.

The Director-General of NTDA, Chief Folorunsho Coker, called for stronger collaboration between the two agencies, stating, “It is time for collaboration, not competition.” He also highlighted the critical role of technology in transforming Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality industry, urging stakeholders to embrace digital innovations to enhance service delivery and global competitiveness.

The joint management retreat served as a platform for knowledge sharing, strategy alignment, and renewed commitment to the growth of Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality landscape. It reinforced the shared vision of both agencies to position Nigeria as a top destination for local and international tourists.

The retreat yielded actionable strategies that will drive growth and innovation in the tourism and hospitality industry.
