Kogi And FCT To Battle For North-Central U17 Female Volleyball Competition Trophy
Team Kogi have recorded their second win of the ongoing National U17 Female Intra-Zonal Volleyball Competition holding in Rayfield, Jos, Plateau State against FCT Spikers.
The Confluence Spikers edged a hardfighting Nasarawa team 2-1 to put themselves in a good position to fight for the trophy in tomorrow’s finale.
You would recall that Kogi defeated hosts Plateau in two straight sets to start the competition on a high.
There are two matches slated for tomorrow. They are: Plateau vs Nasarawa, and the grand finale: Kogi vs FCT. The winner of the Kogi vs FCT match will be crowned Champions of the North-Central National U17 Female Intra-Zonal Volleyball Competition.
Tomorrow’s matches will serve off at 10am prompt.
Fans have thus far been treated to a sumptuous display of volleybal artistry by the young lasses who are aspiring to carve a niche for themselves using the game of volleybal.
The competition is organized by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports in conjunction with the Nigeria Volleyball Federation. Similar competitions are holding concurrently in the 6 geopolitical zones of the country

Montage Community Football Tourney Registration Ends October 30

Registration for the 2026 edition of the Montage Community Football Tournament will close on Friday, October 30, organisers have announced.
The tournament coordinator, Mr Raphael Ekpang, disclosed this on Thursday, urging interested teams across the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to take advantage of the remaining days to register.
Ekpang said registration had been ongoing since Monday, encouraging eligible teams to complete the process before the deadline.
The tournament, themed “Montage FM 99.7: Empowering Youth, Uniting Communities Through Football,” is scheduled to kick off on November 3, 2026, with playoffs across the six Area Councils of the FCT.
The grand finale will hold on December 5, 2026, at the Old Parade Ground, Garki Area 10, Abuja, where the top four teams will compete for first-, second- and third-place honours.
A total of 48 teams will participate in the competition, with eight teams representing each of the six Area Councils.
The participating teams will compete for cash prizes worth over ₦2 million and other valuable rewards.
