Maiden Edition Of Abuja Beach Soccer Commence On Friday

Beach soccer on the rise in the Federal Capital Territory FCT, as the first edition of Abuja Beach soccer tournament kick off on Friday in Jabi lake park Abuja.
Tournament that is slated for 14th to 16th of February will see four teams across the country fighting for the honour when the tournament eventually commence.
Already, the Abuja residents are feeling the started feeling the vibe of the event as the clean the park initiative create the awareness through cleaning exercise where fliers and handbill were equally share for residents.
Also, the draw will take place on Wednesday when all the team will be around for transparency and fairness for all the team after which there will be a seminar for the participating teams
The participating teams include; Kebbi Beach Soccer Club, Abuja Beach Soccer Club, Kwara Beach Soccer Club and Badagry United Beach Soccer Club.
Speaking shortly after the exercise on Saturday in Abuja, the Chairman of Abuja Beach Soccer Tournament Mahmood Adejar said it’s about time to revive the beach soccer sports in Abuja and beyond.

“Beach soccer it’s really on the rise now not just in Abuja but all over the country, we have been having tournament all over the country we have been having tournament in Lagos, Kebbi we really felt that it’s about time to revive beach soccer in Abuja
“Several years ago, we used to have tournament but it’s not been consistent but we said look, we need to make the event annual tournament because all the potential to have an international tournament are in Abuja.
“We are starting this year edition with four teams but next year we are going to expand it.”
On his remarks, one of the sponsors, Cosgrove representative Ahmed Mohammed promised to support Abuja beach soccer initiative and help people especially, the young ones to live their dreams.”
When asked what will be the expectation from the organization toward the Abuja Soccer? He replied; “we will be with an organizer from the beginning to the end, we are ready to support them in any way.”
