MK Sports Water FC Celebrates Chief Femi Otedola @60 With National Championship

The Proprietor, and Founder of the MK Sports Water Football club of Abuja Nureni Makanjuola has put in place a national tournament tagged “Ote4Wealth” to celebrate one the Nigeria’s Biggest Philanthropist, Femi Otedola, at 60 for his contribution to the national development of Nigeria.
Chief Otedola is great in many things businessman and investor, husband and father, all-round public figure.
However, to the average news-sensitive Nigerian, Otedola is a philanthropist extraordinaire. On his 60th birthday, felicitations has been pouring in from all angles to celebrate a man whose prestige is built around the people.
Femi Otedola was born on November 4 in the imperial city of Ibadan. Within this length of time, Otedola has managed to give breath to his origin, and he isn’t shaming his forebears at all.
Based of this all roads will lead to the stadium of light, popularly known as Water FC Stadium at Apo Lokogoma in the Nigeria Capital city where teams from 36 states and FCT will be competing at the 2022 “Ote4wealth” National Championship.
The 6 days National tournament slated for 15th to 16th of November 2022, will see winner smile home with 1 million naira and many other individual prices.
While at the unveiling of the ‘Ote4Wealth’ National championship, founder of the MK Sports Water FC Nureni Makanjuola said he is using the tournament to appreciate the goodness of God in the life Business Mogul Femi Otedola whom God has giving grace to clock 60 years in the land of the living.
According to him, we are here because of a great man, a brother, an uncle, Chief Femi Otedola that I cherished.
“It has been my longtime dream and I have been putting him in my prayers that Almighty God should give him long life, prosperity and more wealth.
I promised myself that if God can grant my request on him, clocking 60 years, I will celebrate him.
He is a man, I never met in my life but he is my idols that I cherish and that gave birth to “Ote4wealth” National Championship in Abuja.
I want to use what I know best to celebrate whom I cherish so much and what I know and love to do is football business. That is why we are organizing this tournament where 36 teams and FCT will compete in the tournament.
While giving hint on the price, he revealed: MK Sports Water FC Mr. Makanjuola said: “we have a lot of fantastic prices for the winner, the winner will smile home with 1million naira to send a signal that we are celebrating him.
“Also there will be individual prices for the highest goal scorer, most valuable player, best goal keep amongst others.
He urged the sports loving Nigerians to join him in celebrating Otedola.
Meanwhile, many young talents realize their dreams especially in football courtesy of the Grace of God through Mr Nureni Makanjuola today, many are bread winners because of the free gifts of MK.
No wonder his club, Water FC, has produced exceptional players who have played for national teams including U-17, U-20, U-23 and the Super Eagles of Nigeria, because of his good heart.

The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy mourns the passing of Nigeria’s highlife legend, Mike Ejeagha, who departed this life on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the age of 95.
The Minister extends condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Mike Ejeagha, in a statement issued on Saturday through her Senior Assistant on Media and Publicity Nneka Ikem Anibeze praying that his soul rests in peace.
Musawa describes the late icon as a legend whose contributions to Nigeria’s culture through music and folklore cannot be set aside.
“The nation has lost a treasure trove of cultural heritage and musical genius. Mike Ejeagha’s contributions to Nigerian music are immeasurable, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
“Mike Ejeagha’s impact on Igbo culture and music is undeniable. His extensive discography, comprising over 300 recordings archived in the National Archives of Nigeria, is a testament to his dedication to preserving and promoting our rich cultural heritage.
“As we mourn the passing of this musical icon, we celebrate his life and legacy. May his music continue to inspire and educate future generations of Nigerians,” the Minister said.
Ejeagha’s distinctive style of Igbo folk music, which resonated across multiple generations, has earned him a revered place in Nigeria’s cultural history. His mastery of transforming Igbo folklore and proverbs into captivating musical narratives educated and entertained audiences, cementing his status as a custodian of oral tradition.
The Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy calls on Nigerians to join in paying tribute to this legendary musician and folklorist, honoring his memory by continuing to promote and preserve our cultural heritage.
