The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, has officially inaugurated the Editorial Committee for a landmark publication that will chronicle the history and evolution of the Nigerian Civil Service.

The event took place at the Conference Room of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) in Abuja.

According to a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Eno Olotu, the initiative represents a significant milestone in the Federal Government’s ongoing commitment to preserving institutional memory, promoting administrative scholarship, and capturing the Civil Service’s transformative journey over the decades.

In her address, Mrs. Walson-Jack described the forthcoming publication as a “legacy document and national asset” that will detail the Civil Service’s reforms, achievements, and future aspirations.

She emphasized that the work would serve not only as a historical record but also as a policy tool, reform guide, and reference for scholars and practitioners in public administration.

“This publication will deepen public appreciation of the Civil Service’s central role in Nigeria’s national development and will inspire a new generation of public servants,” she said.

She further highlighted that the initiative is in line with the objectives of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025 (FCSSIP 25), which seeks to institutionalize excellence, innovation, and continuous learning within the Service.
