NBBF Electoral Committee rolls out Election timeline

The 2021 Electoral Committee of the Nigeria Basketball Federation headed by Dr Lanre Glover will commence the collection of forms for intending candidates between the 18th and 19th of October, 2021.

In a release by the committee ahead of the October 30 election slated for Benin City, Edo State, all duly completed forms must be returned on or before 26th, October with the screening scheduled to hold on 27th of October.

The committee directed that all forms should be submitted to the NBBF Secretariat in Abuja between the hours of 9am to 2pm or via mail addressed to the Chairman and Secretary of the Committee.

Organizing and supervising of the much anticipated elections and all decisions relating it will be in conformity with the 2019 NBBF status.

Eligible candidates will be vying for the vacant posts of President, Vice President and Zonal Representatives into the North-central, North-East, North-West, South-East, South-South, and South-West zones.

In consonance with article 20 of NBBF statutes, each member state (36 states and the FCT) shall be represented by 2 delegates (Chairman and Secretary) while any representative must produce a written advice duly signed by the Chairman on letter-head paper of the association in the absence of the aforementioned.

A final official list of candidates will be published, announced in the media and sent to all members of the General Assembly at least 2 days before the elective General Assembly is held.

All campaigns must cease 24hrs before Election Day while any form of corruption and other forms of direct inducement of voters may lead to the disqualification of the defaulting candidate(s).

The election will be monitored and observed by the Federation of International Basketball Associations representatives and those from the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Nigeria Olympics Committee.

TotalEnergies Nigeria Honours Musa Kida

Engr(Dr) Ahmadu Musa Kida was at the weekend honored by TotalEnergies Nigerian office, to commemorate his 35 years of unbroken meritorious service, to retirement.

It was a chance for the Company to thank him for overseeing the growth of TOTAL for over 3 decades where he served at various leadership level.

The company described Engineer Ahmadu Musa Kida as a super mentor of mentors to multitude of TOTAL staff. Little wondered he was retained as a Non Executive Director at TOTAL.

Ahmadu Musa Kida an engineer and former basketball player, hails from Borno State in Nigeria .

Kida received his degree in civil engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1984. He obtained a postgraduate diploma in petroleum engineering from the Institut Francaise du Petrol (IFP) in Paris.

He started his career as a professional at ELF Petroleum Nigeria as a trainee engineer and materials coordinator. Kida joined Total Exploration & Production Nigeria in 1985 and was appointed the Deputy Managing Director of TEPNG Deepwater District as well as on the Board member of Total Upstream Companies in Nigeria on August 01, 2015.

Kida became a member of the Total E&P Nigeria board in 2014 as executive director for the Port Harcourt district.

In August 2015, Kida was appointed as the deputy managing director of the Deepwater district in Lagos.

He retired voluntarily from TotalEnergies in 2020 after 35 years in service.
