Nigeria at 66: Ochei Felicitates Nigerians, Calls for Renewed National Commitment
Joel Ajayi
The president of Nigeria Tennis Fedration, Rt. Hon. (Engr.) Victor Ochei, Esq., has felicitated with Nigerians at home and abroad as the country celebrates its 66th Independence Anniversary.
Ochei, a candidate of the NDC for Delta North Senatorial District in his independent day celebration message described the anniversary as an opportunity to celebrate Nigeria’s journey while reflecting on the challenges confronting the nation.
He noted that Nigeria is richly endowed with human and natural resources and has demonstrated resilience despite years of military interventions, democratic transitions and economic difficulties.
He, however, identified poverty, insecurity, unemployment, ethnic and religious tensions and declining living standards as challenges requiring renewed commitment from both leaders and citizens.
Ochei called for greater dedication to building a nation anchored on peace, unity, justice, equity, accountability and shared prosperity.
According to him, achieving such a Nigeria requires sacrifice, responsible leadership and a governance system that places the welfare and dignity of citizens at the centre of public policy.
He urged governments at all levels to ensure judicious use of public resources, strengthen democratic institutions and create an environment where Nigerians can live with dignity, security and hope.
Ochei also called on Nigerians to remain patriotic and united in their determination to build a peaceful, prosperous and just nation for present and future generations.
He congratulated Nigerians on the 66th Independence Anniversary and expressed hope for a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
