Nigeria Teqball Challenger Series: Dollars Rains For Champions

… As NIGTEQ Boss Excited With Teqball Growth
It was rains of Dollars for the champions of the maiden edition of the Nigeria Challenger Teqball Series held in Abuja which ended on Monday.
In phase one of the tournaments, Victor Oyemade who won the men’s Singles event with 20 points went home with $200, while Chiemere Nwa-Emmanuel(16pts) and Andrew Ikoko(12pts) received $150 and $100 respectively.
In the mixed doubles duo of Nwachukwu Emeka and Obi Ijeoma with 15points smile to the bank with $400 while Sylvester Gloria and Osayande Edokpolor, of N-Youth (13pts), settle for $300 as runner up as Imo State Team made up of Adindu Chukwuemeka and Otuh Favour (13pts) received $200.
In the Men’s doubles final, Oyemade Ademoye and Yahaya Akorede (20pts)who emerged champions received a whopping $400 while runner up, the duo of Ikoko Ochuko and Chukwuebuka (16pts) picked $300 as Salihu Funsho and Ogunlana Joseph (10pts) pocketed $200 for their efforts.
The president of Nigeria Teqball Federation (NIGTEQ) Engr. Habu Gumel, while speaking during the presentation of medals and prizes to the winners, expressed satisfaction about the rapid growth of Teqball in the country despite being a new sport in the world.
Gumel who doubles as the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) president vowed to make Teqball a household name in the country and also to place Nigerian on the world map.
“I am very excited that Teqball is developing seriously in Nigeria we just started not long ago even, though it a new sport in the world but it’s moving and we are happy.
“In Nigeria, we have decided to develop it more and to the highest level, we have decided to develop it in all parts of Africa even to the world.
“So, I am happy with what I have seen today l saw better performance in all the players in this championship, we will rotate tournament from one zone to another I want to assure the public and training will continue” he concluded.

NVBF President, Engr Nimrod Urges Families to Embrace Healthy Living at HOBA Novelty Sports

President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, has called on Nigerian families to adopt healthy living habits through regular participation in sporting and fitness activities.
Nimrod made the call on Sunday during the third edition of the Hoba Development Association, Abuja Chapter, novelty sports event held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
He noted that physical activities such as sports are vital to fostering family bonds, community interaction, and overall well-being.
“The rate of health-related incidents such as slumping is increasing, but regular exercise helps improve the health of both parents and children,” he said. “Events like this bring families together, allowing parents and children to interact and know each other better.”
Also speaking, the stand-in Chairman of the Hoba Community, Barrister Nathan Naandeti, highlighted the significance of the annual novelty games, describing them as a unifying platform for members of the community.
“It’s something we do every year to promote unity, togetherness, and fitness among our people. Sports is part of who we are,” he stated.
Men, women, and children from the Hoba community participated in various sporting activities, including volleyball, badminton, football, and aerobics—all aimed at encouraging relaxation, fitness, and bonding among families.
