Nigeria Football Coaches Association Inaugurates Electoral/Appeal Committees

The Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA) has inaugurated the Electoral Committee and Appeal Committee for its Elective Congress scheduled to hold on June 14, 2023 in Abuja.


The Electoral Committee is made up of the following members:


1. Muhammad Manzo – Chairman2. Adamu Osmond – Vice Chairman 3. Barr Audu Lawal – Secretary4. Udeme Emesiani – Member5. Coach Alphonsus Dike – Member.


The Appeal Committee also has a total of Five (5) members as follows:


1. Barr. Agbolade Abdulrazaq Dokunmu – Chairman 2. Orumade Daniel – Vice Chairman 3. Mustapha Sheik Muhammad – Member 4. Godwin Bamigboye – Member 5. Barrister Jimmy Kadiri – Secretary.


The Acting President of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Dr Isiaka Salami, while inaugurating the Committees on behalf of the President, Isah Ladan Bosso congratulated them on their appointments.

He appreciated them for accepting to serve on the Committees they have been appointed.

He added that their engagement is as a result of their track records of excellence, honesty and hard work which he believes will be brought to bear in the conduct of a free, fair and credible Football Coaches elections scheduled to hold in June, 2023.


The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mohammed Manzo, speaking in his acceptance speech on behalf of the members promised that they will uphold truth, honesty and fairness in the discharge of their duties so that the Nigeria Football Coaches Association will record a transparent, free, fair and credible election.


Speaking also, the Chairman, NFCA Elections Appeal Committee, Barrister Agbolade Abdulrazaq Dokunmu said that he is confident that the Electoral Committee will do a good job to the extent that the Appeal Committee will have little or no issues to look into after a free and fair electoral process has been observed as contained in the electoral rules and guidelines.

Team Nigeria Jets to Cairo for 11th World Para Powerlifting Championships

Excitement is high as Team Nigeria’s para powerlifting contingent departed Nigeria on Tuesday, October 7, for the 11th World Para Powerlifting Championships set to take place in Cairo, Egypt, from October 9 to 18, 2025. 


The milestone event marks the first-ever World Championships to be hosted on African soil, symbolizing a new era for the sport on the continent.


The first batch of Team Nigeria athletes left the country on Tuesday amid cheers and well-wishes from officials, fans, and supporters.

The second batch of the contingent is scheduled to depart tomorrow, October 8, from Lagos, completing the full team that will represent the nation at this landmark competition.


Speaking ahead of the departure, officials expressed confidence in the team’s readiness and determination to uphold Nigeria’s longstanding reputation as a force to be reckoned with, in global para powerlifting.


The National Sports Commission (NSC) reaffirmed its full support for the athletes, emphasizing the government’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and excellence in sports.
