NIHOTOUR Partners Jabamah for Naija food At Bleisure event

Publisher of Atqnews and Travellers Magazine, organizer of the National acclaimed tourism event, Jabamah, Amb. Ikechi Uko has presented letter of Winner of Travellers Award – Tourism CEO of the Year 2021 to Nura Kangiwa, Director General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) with the formal Award presentation billed for 11th March, 2022.


Making the presentation to Kangiwa at the headquarters of the Institute in Abuja, Amb. Uko congratulated Kangiwa saying it was a well-deserved honour for Kangiwa in view of his dogged pursuit and perseverance in manpower and capacity training and development of personnel in the travel tourism and hospitality industry of the country which has impacted significantly in quality service delivery in the sector.


Receiving the Award letter, Kangiwa expressed his happiness and thanked organizers of the event for finding him worthy and deserving of the award, promising that this gesture will spur him to do much more in fulfilling the yearnings of stakeholders and critical industry players for more skilled and trained personnel to service the industry.    


NIHOTOUR promised the Institute’s support for the 2022 Jabamah event scheduled to hold in Abuja from 11th to 12th March, 2022 with the hosting of the Naija Foods by NIHOTOUR, as side attraction for visitors, guests and participants to savour a variety of Nigerian best dishes.


 A flagship event of the 2022 Jabamah program captioned Bleisure comes alive which is set to resonate a loud bang in the social space of Nigeria travel tourism industry.           

 The Travel Bleisure event in Nigeria is a Nobel concept being brought into the country’s travel tourism market place by the organizers that seeks to have a serene business environment laced with leisure activities says Amb Ikechi Uko, thus the name Bleisure.

The Business Tourism Event is loaded with fun activities that promises to be leisure fulfilling as NIHOTOUR’s best chef will thrill guests to sumptuous and tasty Naija Foods, including the Award of Certificates to winners of the Atqnews and Travellers Magazine 2021 Award for the Nigerian travel tourism and hospitality industry.                                                 )

NTDA, NIHOTOUR Strengthen Partnership at Joint Management Retreat

The Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) and the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) recently held a joint management retreat at Ibeto Hotel, Abuja. The retreat brought together key management officials from both agencies to foster collaboration, address industry challenges, and develop strategies for advancing Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality sector.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General of NIHOTOUR, Aare Dr. Abisoye Fagade, expressed excitement about the retreat and urged management staff of both agencies to engage in meaningful discussions to find lasting solutions to shared challenges. “We need to focus on strengthening inter-agency synergy between NTDA and NIHOTOUR”, he said. He also emphasized on the importance of teamwork in achieving sustainable growth for the sector.

The Director-General of NTDA, Chief Folorunsho Coker, called for stronger collaboration between the two agencies, stating, “It is time for collaboration, not competition.” He also highlighted the critical role of technology in transforming Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality industry, urging stakeholders to embrace digital innovations to enhance service delivery and global competitiveness.

The joint management retreat served as a platform for knowledge sharing, strategy alignment, and renewed commitment to the growth of Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality landscape. It reinforced the shared vision of both agencies to position Nigeria as a top destination for local and international tourists.

The retreat yielded actionable strategies that will drive growth and innovation in the tourism and hospitality industry.
