NNL: City FC Pips Yobe Desert Stars 1 Nil in Abuja

Abuja based City Football Club( FC ) beat visitors Yobe Desert Stars Football Club (FC) by a lone goal in an NNL Match Day 12 encounter decided at the Area 10 Sports Complex, Old Parade Ground, in Abuja on Sunday.
In the Group A1 Northern Conference of the ongoing 2021/2022 Nigeria National league (NNL) City FC were without league action last weekend due to their paused match-day 11 encounter with Sokoto United.
In the 14 minute , City FC , forward Mujeeb Odufeso and Oscar Ezejiofor couldn’t nod home from close range as the ball flashes past their foreheads.
15 minutes later, Free Kick for the city in a dangerous area. But it’s spurned. Leaving the Yobe keeper in excruciating pain.
In 27 minute, Odufeso is presented with another chance to score but his left-footed effort drifts wide. He later scored in the added five minute time of the first half from a close range to the net.
On resumption of the second half, the Yobe Desert Stars FC struggled hard but they couldn’t convert their opportunities to goal.
Speaking shortly after the game, the director of Sports City club Moses Adam who was not impress about the narrow victory charged the players to up their game for more victory
According to him, it’s not a good game, we know the task ahead of us we suppose to score three to four goals but I don’t know what wrong with our players
“In this season there is no room for excuses, in the beginning of the season the second round we are first, the last game we came second because of just one goal if it happens like this then, the whole year will be messed up that is why we just have to keep scoring.”
He however said that the team has to sit tight, “We have the quality, we are going to sit with the coach a lot and need to change, the mentality one zero is not acceptable.” He frowned.

NVBF President, Engr Nimrod Urges Families to Embrace Healthy Living at HOBA Novelty Sports

President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, has called on Nigerian families to adopt healthy living habits through regular participation in sporting and fitness activities.
Nimrod made the call on Sunday during the third edition of the Hoba Development Association, Abuja Chapter, novelty sports event held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
He noted that physical activities such as sports are vital to fostering family bonds, community interaction, and overall well-being.
“The rate of health-related incidents such as slumping is increasing, but regular exercise helps improve the health of both parents and children,” he said. “Events like this bring families together, allowing parents and children to interact and know each other better.”
Also speaking, the stand-in Chairman of the Hoba Community, Barrister Nathan Naandeti, highlighted the significance of the annual novelty games, describing them as a unifying platform for members of the community.
“It’s something we do every year to promote unity, togetherness, and fitness among our people. Sports is part of who we are,” he stated.
Men, women, and children from the Hoba community participated in various sporting activities, including volleyball, badminton, football, and aerobics—all aimed at encouraging relaxation, fitness, and bonding among families.
