Nollywood Travel Film Festival set to take Italy by storm

Founder Nollywood Travel Film Festival, Mykel Parish Ajaere said the vibrant and ever-evolving world of Nollywood is set to enchant audiences across Italy as the Nollywood Travel Film Festival gears up to sweep through Milan, Florence, Rome, and Torino.

The festival, dedicated to showcasing the best Nigerian cinema, will celebrate the rich storytelling and cultural heritage of Nollywood, Africa’s largest film industry. The festival has partnered with the Festival Del Cinema Africano, d’ Asia e America Latina (Fescaaal), Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO), and the African Diaspora Cinema Festival (ADCF) to host programs in Milan, Florence, Rome, and Torino.

Parish Ajaere made this known in a statement released to journalists in Abuja, recently.

He explained that the festival has a lineup of diverse and compelling films that capture the essence of Nigerian culture, adding that the festival will be an unforgettable cinematic experience. From gripping dramas to hilarious comedies, the festival will offer a window into the vibrant world of Nollywood and its unique storytelling traditions.

Ajaere said that audiences in Milan, Florence, Rome, and Torino should look forward to a curated selection of 20 films that highlight the creativity and talent of Nigerian filmmakers. Through these captivating stories, viewers will be transported to the heart of Nigeria, experiencing its beauty, complexity, and diversity.

” The Nollywood Travel Film Festival aims to foster cultural exchange and dialogue between Nigeria and Italy, bridging the gap between the two countries through the universal language of cinema. By bringing Nollywood films to Italian audiences, the festival hopes to foster a greater understanding and appreciation of Nigerian culture, traditions, and perspectives.

In addition to film screenings, the Nollywood Travel Film Festival will feature panel discussions, Q&A sessions with filmmakers, networking opportunities for industry professionals and film enthusiasts alike, tours across Italy, and film studios.

Nigeria, Saudi Arabia Explore Film Production Collaboration

Nigeria and Saudi Arabia have commenced discussions on sustainable cultural cooperation, particularly in the area film production.


 Consequently, a meeting has been held between the Nigerian Film Corporation led by Dr. Ali Nuhu and Mr. Ali Khalil Al-Maqeit, representative of the Saudi Arabia Film Commission, at the ongoing Berlinale film festival in Germany.


 The Saudi authorities are eager to sign a cooperation agreement with Nigeria, to facilitate a robust film sector development for both countries. 


The potentials for film industry growth are vast, with opportunities for co-production, talent exchange, and knowledge sharing. The handshake between Nigeria’s vibrant film industry, and that of Saudi Arabia would enable the showcase of unique cultures of both nations.


This significant effort is part of a broader strategy by Saudi Arabia and Nigeria to strengthen bilateral cultural relations.


As the two countries move towards the emplacement of a cooperation agreement, exciting new developments and investment opportunities await Nigeria and Saudi filmmakers.
