NYCN Commends Gov Fubara for Resilient Leadership, Developmental Strides in Rivers State

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), under the leadership of its President, Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, extends warm felicitations to its distinguished Role Model and the charismatic Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on the occasion of his birthday.

Secretary, NYCN Board of Trustees Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo stated that: This milestone is more than a celebration of another year; it is an opportunity to recognise a life of uncommon service, purposeful leadership, and enduring impact. Governor Fubara’s journey in public service reflects a deep commitment to national development, economic inclusion, and the overall progress of the people of Rivers State and Nigeria at large.

Over the past two years, amid man-made political tensions in Rivers State, Governor Fubara has demonstrated exemplary leadership marked by patience, tolerance, accommodation, and peace-building.

Beyond these qualities, he has remained resolute and principled—a calm but determined fighter committed to delivering democratic dividends to the people. His leadership approach has strengthened institutions, preserved stability, and reinforced public confidence in governance.

Under his stewardship, Rivers State has recorded notable progress across key sectors. Education has received renewed attention through improved policies and targeted investments aimed at building human capital. The health sector has benefited from strategic interventions designed to improve access and the quality of care. FCC Strengthens Global Ties with Proposed UAE Digital Investment Deal

The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has begun discussions with an international investment delegation on possible collaboration to strengthen its digital systems and improve service delivery.


The Executive Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, received the delegation led by Mr. Michael Gale, Founder and Group CEO of Al Liwan Group Limited, from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, at the FCC Headquarters in Abuja.


Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Omidiran emphasized that technology is essential to effective governance.


“Strengthening our digital infrastructure will help the Commission improve monitoring, ensure better compliance with the Federal Character principle, and enhance transparency in carrying out our constitutional responsibilities,” she said.


The engagement focused on exploring practical partnership models that could support the Commission’s digital upgrade, institutional efficiency, and improved public service delivery.In his remarks, Mr. Gale commended the Commission’s reform direction.


“Institutions that adopt modern digital systems are better positioned to deliver measurable results. We are encouraged by the Commission’s vision and look forward to exploring areas of sustainable collaboration,” he stated.


The proposed partnership aligns with the Commission’s ongoing efforts to modernize its operations, strengthen accountability, and use technology to support fair and equitable representation across the federation.
