NYS Director General Inaugurates 5,000 Seater Auditorium In Rivers Camp

The Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Muhammad Kaku Fadah has commissioned a 5,000 seater capacity ultra-modern auditorium at the Rivers State Orientation Camp in Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area of the State.

Speaking during the inauguration of the auditorium fitted with state-of-the-art facilities, General Fadah commended the Rivers State Governor, Mr Nyesom Wike and the good people of the State for  their unalloyed support for the NYSC through the provision of good working environment for Corps Members and Staff.

He also hailed Governor Wike for showing unrelenting interest in the success of the NYSC, especially through the provision of several infrastructural projects and other positive gestures that have enhanced the smooth conduct of NYSC operations like renovation of Corps Members’ and officials’ hostel, construction of drainages in camp and renovation of the older multi-purpose hall.

Other gestures according to the Director General are; reconstruction of the burnt dining hall, restoration of payment of monthly allowance to Corps Members, restoration of payment of running cost to NYSC Rivers State Secretariat among others.

General Fadah assured the Governor that NYSC would reciprocate his good gesture by the deployment of Corps Members to contribute to the development of the State.

“This magnificent edifice we are inaugurating today is another clear testimony of your passion for the progress of Nigerian youths, who are being trained and mentored for citizenship and leadership roles on the platform of our noble Scheme.

“In view of the exponential rise in the population of graduates being mobilized for National Service, we have mounted intense campaign for State Governments to take proactive steps of upgrading all Orientation Camp facilities to accommodate at least five thousand Corps Members.

“I am pleased to State that this auditorium is the first to meet such specification in the country”, the DG said.

In his remarks, the Rivers State Governor,  Nyesom Wike stated that every stakeholder must provide enabling environment for Corps Members to contribute their quota to national development.

He added that his administration would do everything possible to make Corps Members serving in Rivers State comfortable.

“As they render services to our State, we need to appreciate them and we decided to build this ultra-modern auditorium as our own token to appreciate those that come to our State to serve”, Governor Wike said.

The occasion was witnessed by top government functionaries, traditional rulers, indigenes of the host community, Corps Members and other invited guests from other parts of the country.

CSO Salutes Trump

A Civil Society Organization (CSO) under the aegis of Initiative for Leadership Development and Change (ILDC) has congratulated President Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States of America.

Chief Ugochukwu Nnam, President of the CSO said this in an interview with the Newsmen in Abuja on Monday.

He expressed optimism over improvement on not just American economy but global economy with the inauguration of Trump.

“This is a man with greater vision of making environment around him great.

“In less than few hours of his inauguration, TikTok is back into existence, this shows how he is going to revive the world economy,” he said.

The ILDC boss who reiterated his confidence in Trump’s Presidency, described him as a man of clues and ideas to drive a stable America and the world at large.

He lauded Trump’s collaboration with global entrepreneurs like Elon Musk in an effort to revitalize America’s economy.

According to him, men and women of ideas flock together, they work together for better society and this is what Trump is doing.

Recall that Donald Trump became the 47th President of the U.S by polling 312 electoral votes Vice President Kamala Harris’ 226 votes in Nov, 2024.

Following the oath of office, Trump will address the nation before he is expected to parade across town to the White House and attend three inaugural balls in the evening

About 200,000 supporters are expected to visit the city to mark the presidential transfer of power.
