The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Wednesday revealed the top three for all the women and men categories of the Awards Gala 2022 scheduled for Thursday in Rabat, Morocco.

The Awards will be held in Rabat, Morocco on 21 July 2022 at

The top three lists are from the lists of nominees previously revealed by CAF in both the men and women categories.

In the Player of the Year category, four-time winner Asisat Oshoala of Nigeria is in the hunt for a fifth crown.

However, she faces stiff opposition from Cameroonian Ajara Nchout Njoya and new entrant Grace Chanda of Zambia for the Women’s category.

In the men’s category, former winners Mohamed Salah (Egypt) and Sadio Mane (Senegal) will have to battle it out with Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

However, the list for the National Women Team of the Year award was not among those released due to the absence of a major women’s competition during the period under review.

The Organising Team for the CAF Awards 2022 slated for 20h00 local time (19h00 GMT) has reviewed the selection process for this important category.

The Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) will be factored as one of the criteria in deciding a winner befitting of the status of the award and women’s football in general.

The winner will be announced on Saturday during the WAFCON final match.

President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, has called on Nigerian families to adopt healthy living habits through regular participation in sporting and fitness activities.

Nimrod made the call on Sunday during the third edition of the Hoba Development Association, Abuja Chapter, novelty sports event held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

He noted that physical activities such as sports are vital to fostering family bonds, community interaction, and overall well-being.

“The rate of health-related incidents such as slumping is increasing, but regular exercise helps improve the health of both parents and children,” he said. “Events like this bring families together, allowing parents and children to interact and know each other better.”

Also speaking, the stand-in Chairman of the Hoba Community, Barrister Nathan Naandeti, highlighted the significance of the annual novelty games, describing them as a unifying platform for members of the community.

“It’s something we do every year to promote unity, togetherness, and fitness among our people. Sports is part of who we are,” he stated.

Men, women, and children from the Hoba community participated in various sporting activities, including volleyball, badminton, football, and aerobics—all aimed at encouraging relaxation, fitness, and bonding among families.
