The Chairman of Paul E Football Club, Somtochukwu Chidiebebe has revealed that the concept of the Paul E Women Football Tournament which will begin soon in Abuja, is to give hope to the girl child, and also give them a platform to exhibit their skills in the round leather game.

According to American based football administrator, “when I decided to start the Paul E Women FC, the main purpose was to help the girl child through football and also enable them create an impact in the women’s football, because I feel it has been neglected for long.

Continuing, Somtochukwu whose male team plays in the Nationwide Division 2 League said the performance of Nigeria Women Football teams in their various tournaments, has shown a bunch of talented players who have achieved a lot for the country, but are not adequately taken care off “I happened to have an agent with direct contact with European clubs because his company is more focused on women’s football and I’m also working with some coach here in America who can facilitate full athletic scholarships for the girls, because they believe we have the raw talents here in Nigeria, but the problem is that there are very little tournaments that these girls can be discovered and given the opportunity to explore their world in the game “.

The Paul E Inter Area Councils Women Football Tournament is expected to hold in Abuja later in November.

NVBF seeks continuous partnership with Abia Govt after successful 2025 Nat Div 1 & 2

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) have expressed profound appreciation to the Government and people of Abia State for their outstanding support and collaboration during the successful hosting of the final phase of the 2025 National Division 1 and 2 Volleyball Leagues.

In a statement signed by Engineer Musa Nimrod, NVBF President, the federation commended Abia State for its warm hospitality and commitment to the development of sports, particularly volleyball.

Nimrod explained that the successful event was a result of the strong partnership between the federation and the state government.

He said, “The Board of Administration of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, on behalf of the entire volleyball community in the country, wishes to express profound gratitude to the Government and people of Abia State for their noble collaboration in organizing the final phase of Division 1 and 2.”

He further highlighted that Abia State is gradually becoming a hub for volleyball in Nigeria.

Nimrod attributed the growth of volleyball to the government’s investment in youth and sports development.

He emphasised the NVBF desire to sustain and strengthen this partnership to further promote volleyball and empower young athletes across the nation.

“The federation remains grateful and looks forward to a more robust and progressive partnership with the Abia State Government in the future.”
