PMB Chief Of Staff Marvelles With Outstanding Developments At Nasarawa University

Chief of Staff to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,Professor Ibrahim Gambari has said that he was marvelled by the tremendous transformative achievements in all aspects he has been witnessing at the Nasarawa State University,Keffi (NSUK) since he becomes conversant with the university recently.
The chief of staff who made this known in his address during the official commissioning of the five story Senate building and engineering laboratory of the university in keffi, Nasarawa State on Monday, described the gestures of both the past and present governments of Nasarawa State in the said aspects as second to none.
“I continue to marvel on how each time during my visit to the university I noticed something new on transformative. This speak the commitments of the state governments both in the past and current as well as the management of the university which continue to leaves and bounds.
“I pray that the provisions of this critical infrastructures will further led the university to attend a new hight in a dogged efforts in providing quality education for our citizens. I most admit that I enjoy a very special relationship with this university and this state” he stated.
He commended the management of NSUK for th prudent manner on which it utilises Tetfund allocations disbursed to them at all times.
On his part, the Nasarawa State governor Engineer Abdullahii Alhaji Sule said,” Let me commend Tetfund for the construction of the university’s senate building and other endeavors. It is our hope that those endeavors would be sustain for Goodwill”.
The APC national Chairman, Senator Abdullahii Adamu who was the founder of the university when he was the governor of the state and who doubles as the chairman of the event also said,” I was marvelled by the tremendous achievements that the university has recorded in human capacity, infrastructures, international linkages, research and innovations developments within the short period years”.
On his part, the Executive Secretary of Tetfund Architect Sunny Ochonu said, NSUK was the only university that he visited twice in the country since he came on board, owing to the outstanding commitments of their management, adding that Tetfund have 373 similar projects to that of NSUK which are ready for commissioning across Nigerian universities.
“Tetfund along with the various beneficiaries institutions are working assiduously to ensure that we complete additional 315 projects and commission them before the end of this administration”he stressed.
According to him, from 2011 to 2020 Tetfund has allocated over 10 Billion Naira for infrastructures related interventions to NSUK, adding that the said university was having one of the highest rates of outstanding Tetfund exceeding 80 percent.
On their separate goodwill messages at the event the Emir of Lafia and Keffi Emirates Justice,Sidi Bage and Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa lll commended Tetfund good gestures to the university, advising the beneficiary institute to make judicious uses of them in order to attract more.
In his speech earlier,the Vice Chancellor of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed thanked the Nasarawa State Government, Tetfund,NASENI and all the university’s stakeholders for always according them with their needfuls, adding that the university is still far from meeting the increasing demands for offices, students hostels, workshops amongst other necessary interventions.
Highlights of the occasion included the commissioning of the University Senate Building, Main Campus,Keffi,Central Engineering Workshop at NSUK Gudi campus, WHO/Unlilinikum of Molecular Diagnostic and Infectious Disease Control, Keffi Center, Building Remodel Senate Building.

Inclusive Education Boost as Deaf-Tech, Federal University of Lafia Roll Out Master’s in Disability Studies

In a major step toward advancing inclusive education in Nigeria, Deaf-in-Tech, an initiative of Data-Lead Africa, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) to establish a Professional Master’s Degree in Disability Studies.
The signing ceremony, held at Deaf-in-Tech’s headquarters in Abuja, featured a goodwill message from Prof. Adaka Terfa Ahon, Director of the Centre for Disability Studies, who represented FULAFIA’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to championing disability and inclusion in its academic innovation and planning.
The new Master’s programme will adopt a hybrid learning model, with online classes complemented by in-person sessions at Deaf-in-Tech’s training facility in Abuja. It is designed to build expertise in disability-inclusive governance, education, and development across sectors.
Executive Director of Deaf-in-Tech and Co-Founder of Data-Lead Africa, Dr. Arowolo Ayoola, described the collaboration as a “structural shift” in how institutions and professionals engage with disability issues. “The inclusion journey must begin with knowledge, and we are proud to partner with a progressive university like FULAFIA,” he said.
Beyond the postgraduate programme, the partnership will also establish a Deaf-in-Tech Club on FULAFIA’s campus — the first of its kind — to empower Deaf students with technology skills, mentorship, and innovation opportunities. Additional initiatives include a ₦1 million academic excellence reward for any Deaf student who graduates with a First Class, as well as the development of a disability-accessible website and digital database for the Centre for Disability Studies, built to WCAG 2.1 global accessibility standards.
The alliance underscores both institutions’ commitment to building inclusive systems and celebrating excellence, while positioning Deaf-in-Tech as a catalyst for bridging the gap between disability and the digital economy.
