Rescue of 8 Kidnapped Corps Members, Climax of My Public Service Exit-Megwa

The outgone Director Of Public Relations of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Eddy Megwa has revealed that the successful rescue of 8 kidnapped Corps Members remains the climax of his successful exit from public Service.


Eddy who immensely contributed his quota to the growth and development of the scheme, meritoriously exited the public service and joined the League of Senior citizens on Sunday, August 25, 2024, on the attainment of the mandatory retirement age of sixty years for public servants.


Acording to him, “the Climax of my departure from public civil service is the successful rescue of eight corps Members kidnaped one year ago.”


“We went through thick and thin, relocating to Zamfara for 17 days, meeting the traditional rulers, the military, police and the Directorate ot State Services, DSS, working round the clock day and night to ensure operations were conducted towards the release of these corps members is very smooth and successful.


“Thank God all of them are here, they are alive and we have seen them.
“We thank God for the prayers of all Nigerians, we thank God for the cooperation of the media, we thank God for the steadfastness of the parents who believed in the Nigerian government especially the military toward the rescue of these young ones.


“We keep stressing that nobody should travel at night as we all need to be alive. Anywhere you are by 6::00pm, cut your journey, you need to be alive to finish your journey”


He lauded members of the Press for their support and prompt reportage of the Scheme’s activities saying the support contributed in no small measure to his success as the 28th image maker of the Scheme.


He enjoined the media to always make clarifications about the Scheme whenever the need arises, instead of rushing to press to publish incorrect and damaging stories about the Scheme.


It was a gathering of staff, friends, families and well-wishers on Friday 25th of August 2024 at.then colorful send-forth party held at the Yakubu Gowon House, Maitama Abuja, celebrating the retirement of the Director of Press and Public Relations Unit, Eddy Megwa who bowed out gracefully from public service, after attaining the peak of his career amidst pomp and celebration.

Hon. Jabiru Abdullahi Encourages Nigerians to Embrace Eid Values of Sacrifice and Unity

The National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria, Hon. Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi, has extended warm Sallah greetings to Muslims across the country as they celebrate Sallah


In a statement issued on Thursday by Ogwa Vivian Onyedibia, Senior Assistant on Media to the AUDA-NEPAD CEO, Hon. Abdullahi urged Nigerians to embrace the core values of sacrifice, unity, and compassion that define the season.


He emphasized that these principles are essential not only to the spiritual significance of the celebration but also to national development and peaceful coexistence.


“Eid is a time for reflection, sacrifice, and togetherness. As we celebrate, let us renew our commitment to building a more united, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria,” he said.

Hon. Abdullahi expressed hope that the celebration would inspire a collective spirit among Nigerians and strengthen the bonds of love, empathy, and patriotism across communities.


He wished all Muslim faithful a joyous and fulfilling celebration, praying for continued peace and blessings upon the nation.
