Rite Food Unveiled As 10km Great Abeokuta Race Title Sponsor

Organisers of Great Abeokuta 10KM Race, Nilayo Sports Management Limited, has announced Rite Foods Limited as the headline sponsor of the race.

Mr. Bukola Olopade, the Chief Executive Officer of Nilayo Sports Management Limited said Tuesday: “We are delighted to announce Rite Foods Limited as Headline sponsor of the second edition of Great Abeokuta 10KM Race. This partnership also perfectly coincides with the concept of this edition of Great Abeokuta 10 KM Race which is to be ran solely by Nigerians.

“All runners will have the ultimate dollar prize to contest for.

This event will mark itself in history as Nilayo Sports will be organising a road race without foreign runners for the very first time.

“We felt that is important to push the Nigerian narrative, that is why we also themed this year’s race: “Naija, race for homeland,” it is necessary to showcase the dynamism of our strength as a nation of great people who are committed to
excellence in all human endeavours.”

The Bigi Abeokuta 10KM Race is scheduled for 13th of November 2021. The route starts at Ake Palace and end at M.K.O Abiola International Stadium. The event will feature a 10KM Race and a Wheelchair category.

The race is greatly supported by Ogun state government.

Other sponsors include Access Bank, Kenya Airways, Suzuki, Eco gas and IBD Hotels.

Remain Calm, IBB International Golf Club Tells Members

It was an unusual scenario Saturday morning as the security agencies comprises of Police and DSS stormed the club, asking staff and members to vacate the club house and course.

While reacting to the incident, the release signed by Ibrahim Alhassan Babayo, the Captain of the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja, described the incident as unfortunate and unexpected.

Ibrahim Babayo accused some minority members with vested interest who collaborated with some security men to seal the club in an attempt to disrupt the scheduled Extra-ordinary General Meeting of the Club.

The release urged everyone to remain calm, assured them that all necessary legal steps will be taken to ensure that the process of filing the Board of Trustees, BOT, vacancies is conducted correctly despite the attempts to derail the process.

The Captain said the club will not relent in its efforts to ensure fairness, transparency and due process prevail.

While assuring the members of continued support and trust, the statement asked the staff and members to await further instructions.
