Shooting Federation Poll: Ayoade Clinch South- West Election, set for Presidency, thursday
The coast is now clear for Nigeria Shooting Sport Federation presidential aspirant, Olatunji Ayoade, who emerged as the Southwest winner in the zonal election.
Commandant Ayoade, who won the zone election with wide margin, polled 5 votes to one vote, to emerge winner of the zone.
To this end, NSSF Presidential aspirant, Ayoade, now called on eligible voters and all stakeholders to vote for him in tommorow’s election saying, his victory will liberate the federation.
According to him, I am pleased to inform you that with your support, I have clinched the South West nomination.
“This feat was achieved with the landslide victory over my co-contestant, with a score of 5 votes to 1 vote. This has thus, set the tempo for me to move on to contest the Presidential elections on 30th September, 2021.
” I, therefore, implore all our teaming supporters to demand for their representatives to vote wisely and depart from lackluster performance of the immediate past that relegated shooting to the background in sporting competitions, even in Nigeria, despite the great potentials the sports has.
“Please let me reiterate that the mandate given to me is not negotiable. “

Nigeria’s own Arabinrin Aderonke Atoyebi has brought immense pride to the nation after being named the International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA) Role Model of the Year at a ceremony held in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The biennial ISCA Awards honour individuals and organizations that use sports and physical activity as tools for social change, inclusion, and empowerment across the globe. This year’s edition drew nominations from several countries, spotlighting outstanding figures who have transformed their communities through the power of sports.
Atoyebi’s unwavering commitment to gender equality and youth empowerment has made her a prominent voice in the sports-for-development space. Through her advocacy and leadership, she continues to demonstrate how sports can serve as a bridge for education, unity, and hope—especially among young women in Nigeria and beyond.
As part of the recognition, Atoyebi received a €3,000 cash prize along with the global visibility that accompanies the prestigious ISCA honour.
Speaking shortly after receiving the award, she expressed deep gratitude and excitement, dedicating the recognition to her team and everyone who has supported her journey.
