STMICHEAL EGBE: MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN GOSPEL GENRE
Gospel singer, Michael Chibuike Egbe who goes by stage name, StMichael Egbe has reaffirmed his commitment of sticking to the gospel music genre as he believes it is a call from The Almighty.
StMichael hails from Awka South Local Government, Anmbra State but was born in Lagos in October, 1978. His love for singing can be traced back to his childhood which reveals he inherited it from maternal genes as his late mom was also a great singer.
The Lagos-born gospel singer’s interest is solely based on testimonial and worship songs. He says he derives inspiration from God and his past experiences.
According to him, his break in the music world was not an easy feat until he harkened unto God’s call to venture into full gospel singing four years ago.
He recalled that he had tried to take things a notch higher in his quest by contesting in West African Idol in 2009 after he released his first secular album “Better Days” in 2007.
In his words: ‘I don’t regret moving into gospel music because now, God has taken over the wheels of my life.’
He reaffirms this statement by saying he derives so much joy in his new path. StMichael revealed that he has recorded a total of six gospel tracks; two from his past secular album and four from the present gospel collection.
He has also released three videos, one from the past secular album and two from his gospel collection including the just released video. “God You Are Not Man’ which was released on Sunday, April 18. https://youtu.be/6iLYcPK_Kf4
He stated that his dream by the grace of God is to see the whole world radiate God’s power through praise and worship and inspire people to see the necessity of gospel songs in life’s endeavors.
