The North Central Zone of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has declared support for the re-election of Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo as President of the Council, endorsing him for another four-year term ahead of the forthcoming National Elective Congress scheduled for this month.
The endorsement was announced on Tuesday at a press conference in Abuja by the State Chairmen of the zone, which comprises Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Plateau, Niger, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking on behalf of the zonal leaders, Comr. Damina Solomon John, Chairman of the Nasarawa State Chapter, said their decision was informed by the need for continuity and the consolidation of Sukubo’s outstanding achievements in youth development, national cohesion, and nation-building.
The youth leaders expressed strong confidence in Sukubo’s capacity to continue driving transformative change, noting that his leadership has been defined by impactful initiatives and programs that have directly benefited Nigerian youth across the country.
“We are delighted to declare our collective resolve to support and endorse Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo for re-election as President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria. His passion, energy, and commitment to youth development make him the ideal candidate for this role,” they said.
They further highlighted his achievements in areas such as: Empowering young people through education, skills training, and entrepreneurship. Promoting youth participation in governance and decision-making. Building partnerships and collaborations with stakeholders to advance youth development. Personally funding initiatives to support programs that benefit Nigerian youth.
In a show of solidarity, the North Central leaders also called on the Federal Ministry of Youth Development and state governments within the zone to support Sukubo’s re-election bid.
They urged all stakeholders to rally behind his leadership to ensure a smooth and successful congress.
“For someone who has consistently demonstrated selfless service and deep love for Nigerian youth, it is only proper that we re-elect him to consolidate and expand his laudable achievements,” the statement concluded.
