Sunday Dare’s Family Lays Mom to Rest, Amidst Eulogies From Governors and Other Notable Personalities

The thanksgiving service to celebrate the life of Mama Ruth Adenihun Dare, the mother of ex Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare witnessed a congregation of distinguished dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond who gathered at the Sabo Baptist Church in Ogbomoso to pay their respects and honour the life and legacy of Mama Ruth Adenihun Dare.

President Bola Tinubu was represented by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, as Governor Seyi Makinde led a plethora of notable personalities from Oyo State. Representatives from various spheres of governance and captains of industry joined in expressing their condolences and celebrating the life of the late matriarch, including His Royal Majesty, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III.

In a heartfelt eulogy, Sunday Dare shared poignant memories and reflected on the profound impact Mama Ruth Adeihun Dare had on his life and the lives of those around her. Dare emphasized the enduring legacy of love, strength, and wisdom that his mother leaves behind, pledging to uphold her values and principles in his endeavors. He expressed profound gratitude to all who traveled from far and wide to honor his late mother

The ceremony also welcomed distinguished past and present ministers, including the former Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Clement Agba, and the former Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen. Notably, former Minister of State for Power, graced the occasion with his presence, further emphasizing the collective respect and admiration for Mama Ruth Adenihun Dare.

Honorable members of the legislature, both past and present, alongside deputy governors and the esteemed wives of former Governors of Oyo State, Mrs. Ajimobi and Mrs. Alao-Akala, lent their support and solidarity to the Dare family during this time.

Dare expressed profound gratitude to all who traveled from far and wide to honour his late mother, highlighting the immense significance of the collective support and condolences extended by friends, colleagues, and well-wishers.

Senate Confirms NCC Board, charged to Consolidate Reforms and Expand Digital space

The newly confirmed Board of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) have being urged to provide bold, transparent, and accountable leadership that will consolidate ongoing reforms in Nigeria’s telecommunications sector and expand digital access to every part of the country.
Sources revealed what the President will expect of them following the Senate’s confirmation.

Chief Idris Ibikunle Olorunnimbe as Chairman of the Board of the NCC, along with other distinguished members:
• Senator Ramoil Olalekan Mustafa, CON
• Engr. Ikechukwu Ugwuegede
• Princess Oristserenwe Emiko
• Barr. Christopher Sandy Okorie
• Hajiya Maryam Bayi

The new Board brings together experienced professionals and reform-minded leaders at a critical time in the evolution of Nigeria’s digital economy.

Chief Olorunnimbe is part of a new generation of leaders whose blend of innovation, entrepreneurship, and public service reflects the administration’s vision of a knowledge-driven, inclusive, and globally competitive economy.

NCC Board is expected to focus on strengthening regulatory independence, improving consumer protection, and accelerating broadband expansion, while ensuring that Nigeria remains a secure, attractive, and competitive destination for digital investment.

Board to work is expected to work in close coordination with the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NCC, and the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, in advancing the goals and accelerate delivery on the Renewed Hope Agenda for a digitally inclusive, knowledge-driven economy.
