NCF/PwC U17 Cricket Tourney: Federation Extends Starter packs to all States
In order to encourage all the states taking part in the 4th edition of the National U17 Cricket Championship powered by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the Nigeria Cricket Federation, ably led by Mr. Uyi Akpata, is extending additional starter packs to all the states taking part in the playoffs across the 6-geo political zones of the country.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the NCF General Manager Emeka Igwilo said that the donation is a morale booster to the states for sustaining the game in their states.
According to the statement, this is coming after the distribution of two different consignments over the last three years. All the 36 states and the FCT got the initial consignment from the Bankstown Community, Australia.
“After the distribution of the Equipment from Australia which was facilitated by ICC Africa, NCF also followed it up with the distribution of the NCF Customized equipment imported from outside the country and that one’s also imported through the ICC Criiio initiative.
“The States, Schools, NGOs and Development officers that have been deploying the equipment into use have continued to receive booster packs to support their grassroot development and growth. It has been a healthy development to support those that help NCF build their scorecard and NCF will not relent in its approach to get the States take ownership and responsibilities of growing the game in the country of over 200 million.
“The Board of the Nigeria Cricket Federation during its Board meeting of 28th Dec 2022 resolved to sustain the growth by re-jigging the growth plan in line with the current projections. This will come during the Strategic Session/AGM when the Development Plan, submitted by the Development Committee to the NCF leadership, will be reviewed.”
