TEAM SHEHU DIKKO TO TAKE ON TEAM NIGERIA IN HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NOVELTY MATCH TO HONOUR NEW NATIONAL SPORTS COMMISSION CHAIRMAN
Organisers of the Shehu Dikko Novelty match, SDNM , says Nigerian Sports is about to soar with the appointment of Mallam Shehu Dikko as the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, NSC.
Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR recently announced the scrapping of the Ministry of Sports and replaced it with a widely anticipated Sports Commission.
And the naming of Dikko as the Chairman of the Sports Commission has continued to generate widespread acceptance and commendation because of his vast experience in Sports Administration.
The Organizers say the Nigeria Sport sector is now going through a reset which will ultimately change the trajectories of Sports in the Country for good.
The SDNM Organisers says the whole essence of the Match is to honour and draw more awareness to the Sports community that there is a new sheriff in town who will need the support of all Nigerians to lead Nigerian Sports to where it truly belongs.
The Novelty match has been fixed for the 4th of December 2024 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja and it will be between Team Shehu Dikko and Team Nigeria.

Nigeria’s own Arabinrin Aderonke Atoyebi has brought immense pride to the nation after being named the International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA) Role Model of the Year at a ceremony held in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The biennial ISCA Awards honour individuals and organizations that use sports and physical activity as tools for social change, inclusion, and empowerment across the globe. This year’s edition drew nominations from several countries, spotlighting outstanding figures who have transformed their communities through the power of sports.
Atoyebi’s unwavering commitment to gender equality and youth empowerment has made her a prominent voice in the sports-for-development space. Through her advocacy and leadership, she continues to demonstrate how sports can serve as a bridge for education, unity, and hope—especially among young women in Nigeria and beyond.
As part of the recognition, Atoyebi received a €3,000 cash prize along with the global visibility that accompanies the prestigious ISCA honour.
Speaking shortly after receiving the award, she expressed deep gratitude and excitement, dedicating the recognition to her team and everyone who has supported her journey.
> “This award means a lot to me.
