TER U KUNAV CUP (ROYAL RUMBLE) DEBUTS APRIL 7TH

After the success of the Kunav Football League that commenced in October, 2020 and ended with the final of the super 4 on the Feb. 27 this year, the Ter U Kunav Cup, reffered to as the Royal Rumble will kickstart on Wed, April 7, 2021. at the Vandeikya Township Stadium.

The Ter U Kunav Cup is the third in the series of competitions organized by the Vandeikya Local Government Football Council since the Council’s election in November 2019, coming after Kunav Football League, and the ongoing Gen. Dominic Oneya Principal’s Cup for All Secondary Schools in Vandeikya.

The Vandeikya Local Government Football Council uses this platform to call on all good Kunav sons and daughters to support this competition by instituting  team or individual awards in honour of your loved ones, as well as supporting your ward teams in any area you may deem fit.

The Chairman, VLGFC, Mr. Robert Terlumun Akpenpuun says the aim of the competitions is to give talented players a viable platform for career promotion and development, reduce crime amongst youths and bring about peace that will breed progress and development in Kunavland, assuring that the Ter U Kunav Cup will be an improvement of the KFL with more side attractions, enhanced price money and reward for loyal fans.

Ter U Kunav Cup is sponsored by the Hon. Chief Justice of the Federal High Court, Abuja, Justice John Tsoho in honour of Ter U Kunav, HRH, Chief Nyiyongu Achiaku, his traditional chiefs and all well meaning sons and daughters of Kunavland.

Meanwhile, Tsoho is expected to grace the opening ceremony of the TUKC (Royal Rumble) in company of many prominent Kunav sons and daughters.

Nigeria is poised to make history as it seeks to host the Centenary Commonwealth Games in 2030, a monumental opportunity that promises to transform the nation’s economy, infrastructure, and global standing. 


More than a sporting spectacle, the Games would serve as a catalyst for development across multiple sectors, leaving behind a legacy of national pride and sustainable growth.


The benefits of hosting the Games extend far beyond the sports arena. Nigeria stands to gain both empirical and non-empirical advantages, with direct, indirect, and induced impacts that will touch every corner of society. Infrastructural development will take center stage, with new facilities such as indoor sports halls, conference centers, and improved road networks reshaping urban landscapes while strengthening the nation’s capacity to host future international events.


Economic growth is another significant dividend. Over 10,000 jobs are expected to be created, spanning construction, facility management, event planning, and tourism services.

The hospitality industry will undergo major improvements as hotels and resorts are upgraded to meet international standards, while local restaurants, lounges, and tourist attractions will see a surge in patronage from international visitors.
