THE BACKEND SECRET OF SUPER FALCONS IMPRESSIVE SHOWING AT FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP

The Super Falcons might currently be ranked 40th in the FIFA world ranking but their Impressive performance so far at the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand has definitely got the World talking.

Nigeria as a Sport nation has a Name in World Football but over the years the Country’s Women Senior team has struggled to keep up to that profile at the Global stage.

But this time around , the current Super Falcons team that the Nigeria Football Federation has assembled are showing a different side at the highest stage of the Women’s game .

In a very tricky Group of better ranked Countries like Canada , Australia and Republic of Ireland , the Falcons top the pool after two rounds of game before narrowly finishing second to book a place in the knock out stage of the World Cup.

The team ensured their qualification to the round of sixteen in style by not losing a game in the group stage with only a few giving them a chance.

But the achievement so far where the team drew number 7 ranked side Canada and shocked number 10 ranked Host Country Australia did not come as a fluke when one takes a look at how the NFF prepared the team this time around.

One of the areas the NFF deliberately worked on, which many did not pay attention to is the appointment of a World class Fitness Trainer for the team.

Prior to the World Cup and inline with his election promises to give the Women’s team equal support as the Men, the NFF President Ibrahim Gusau approved the appointment of Kyle Quigkey from America to join the Coaching staff.

The NFF appointed the American against their Current financial challenges to provide top class fitness training for the team ahead of the World Cup.

The NFF President said the board understands the immeasurable value of having a very fit squad if the team must make any meaningful impact at the World Cup.

” For us , no matter how talented a team is If they are not physically fit for the task ahead , their threshold to withstand pressure for ninety minutes will be weak”, Gusau said.

” I am particularly happy that the players themselves are testifying to how fit they are looking in this World Cup and the overall impact is how well the team has performed so far at the tournament”, he concluded.

The Falcons from their first match against Canada had looked very sharp in their play and even when they were under tremendous pressure in their second game against Australia, they never looked mentally and physically fatigue for the duration of the game.

And on several interviews the players have spoken so confidently about how fearless they are ahead of their games thanks to their physical and mental readiness.

The NFF signed the American fitness coach for a short term period which will elapse after the World Cup.

In response to recent tensions following last Saturday’s local government council election, the President expressed deep concern over reports of arson and explosions in the state.

He urged all political actors to de-escalate the situation and discourage their supporters from engaging in violence or destructive actions.

President Tinubu directed the police to restore and maintain peace, law, and order immediately.

While instructing law enforcement agencies to bring the situation under control, he emphasised the need to ensure the security of public institutions.

President Tinubu said government facilities built with public funds must be safeguarded from vandalism.

He stressed that self-help has no place in a democratic system, especially after 25 years of continuous democracy.

According to President Tinubu, the judiciary can settle all political disputes, and the outcome of this election should be no exception.
