Unity Preseason Tournament Enters Quarter Finals Stage.
…As Ex- Eagles Coordinator Donates Individual Awards
Nasarawa United will on Wednesday lock horns with City FC in the first quarter finals match of the ongoing Unity Pre-season tournament holding in Abuja.
The Solid Miners who had a hundred percent runs in the preliminary rounds beating both Mailantarki FC and Like-Minds FC will have their hands full against the City Boys who narrowly missed promotion to the elite division of the Nigeria League at the end of last season.
The match which will be played at the Area 3 pitch football pitch, will be followed by another litmus test in the match between Lobi Stars and Like-Minds FC of Gwagwalada Abuja.
The Like-Minds team which plays in NLO 1 division will be a tricky opponents for the Makurdi boys who are parrading a lot of experience players. The “Shoe get size” boys from Benue State will need to throw all their arsenal into the game to be able to subdue the Gwagwalada boys.
On Thursday, giant killers Mahanaim FC will tackle Setraco FC while EFCC will take on their Church neighbors in Abuja, Family Worship Center Champions.
The Semifinals will be played on Friday, while the finals come up on Saturday.
Meanwhile, former FCT FA Chairman Atah has donated various individual awards for the tournament. He donated trophies for the Fair play team, Most Valuable Player, Best Goalkeeper of the tournament and the Highest Goal scorer award. The former Super Eagles Coordinator did same in the last edition.

NVBF seeks continuous partnership with Abia Govt after successful 2025 Nat Div 1 & 2

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) have expressed profound appreciation to the Government and people of Abia State for their outstanding support and collaboration during the successful hosting of the final phase of the 2025 National Division 1 and 2 Volleyball Leagues.
In a statement signed by Engineer Musa Nimrod, NVBF President, the federation commended Abia State for its warm hospitality and commitment to the development of sports, particularly volleyball.
Nimrod explained that the successful event was a result of the strong partnership between the federation and the state government.
He said, “The Board of Administration of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, on behalf of the entire volleyball community in the country, wishes to express profound gratitude to the Government and people of Abia State for their noble collaboration in organizing the final phase of Division 1 and 2.”
He further highlighted that Abia State is gradually becoming a hub for volleyball in Nigeria.
Nimrod attributed the growth of volleyball to the government’s investment in youth and sports development.
He emphasised the NVBF desire to sustain and strengthen this partnership to further promote volleyball and empower young athletes across the nation.
“The federation remains grateful and looks forward to a more robust and progressive partnership with the Abia State Government in the future.”
