Unity Preseason Tournament : Nigerian Coaches Boss Drums Support
The President of Nigerian Football Coaches Association (NFCA) Isah Ladan Bosso has supported the initiative of organizing the Unity Preseason Tournament (Unity Cup) in the Federal Capital Territory.
Bosso, who is the Head coach of the National U. 20 Male team (Flying Eagles) said the idea is well conceived and should be embraced by all invited clubs especially those in the North Central zone.
Quoting his words, the Coaches Boss said “the concept is a welcomed development which must be embraced by every club in the North Central zone to among other things assess their new acquisitions, prepare adequately, interact and share ideas with officials of other teams. I wholeheartedly support the concept and we would be ready to make the program a success ” he concluded in a message to the organizers.
The Unity Preseason Tournament will hold in Abuja from 30th October to 5th November. According to the Chairman of the Organizing committee Patrick Ngwaogu (Odogwu Ndi Abia) about 10 teams in the North Central are expected to take part in the tournament.
The teams will include Kwara United, Plateau United, Nasarawa United, Lobi Stars, and Niger Tornadoes. Other NNL clubs like EFCC FC, NAF FC, Kogi United have all signified interest to be part of the tournament.

In 14 days, the Federal Capital Territory will host one of the most anticipated sporting events on the African athletics calendar, the PremiumTrust Bank Abuja City International Half Marathon.

Thousands of runners, elite athletes, professional clubs, corporate teams, fitness enthusiasts and first-time participants will take to the streets of Abuja for a 21.1km test of endurance, discipline and determination.
The marathon race is designed to showcase the beauty and vibrancy of the city, will wind through its major districts, offering participants and spectators a unique view of Nigeria’s capital at its finest, orderly, energetic and alive.
Nilayo Sports Limited, the organizer of the marathon, says its partnership reflects a deeper commitment beyond organizing a race, a commitment to wellness, youth empowerment, and the promotion of Nigeria as a destination for world-class sporting events.
“We believe in building excellence, and there is no better symbol of excellence than the marathon where consistency, preparation and resilience meet,” Nilayo Sports Limited noted.
As the countdown continues, organizers have intensified preparations from route safety and medical support to logistics, timing systems and volunteer mobilization to ensure a seamless experience for athletes and spectators alike.
The marathon offers prize money and global ranking points for elite runners. While it offers something far more valuable for everyday runners, the opportunity to be part of history.
