Unity Preseason Tournament : NYSC Applaud Organizers
The Management of NYSC FC has commended the Organizers of the Unity Preseason Tournament for putting up a robust medical team on ground that were quick in saving the life of one of its players during one of the matches in tournament.
In a message to the organizers, the management of NYSC FC said ” we wish to express our profound gratitude to the organizers of Unity Pre-season Tournament and the members of the Wiki Tourists FC. on the timely intervention in saving the life of our player Collins Ugwu during our game with Wikki Tourists . We also appreciate the effort of FRSC medical team which was on ground at the tournament. The efforts were well appreciated. We Wish you a successful completion of the tournament”.
It could be recalled that the Collins Ugwu had collapsed after an aerial encounter with the Wikki Tourists goalkeeper on Wednesday. The FRSC medical team engaged by the organizers, were on ground were quick to rescue him before he was taken to the hospital.
Meanwhile the last qualifiers will be decided today when Wikki Tourists takes on fellow NPFL mates, Katsina United at the Area 3 playing pitch. The first match of the day will be between Capital City and NYSC FC.
Already Nasarawa United and Plateau United have booked their tickets to the semi finals of the tournament. Nasarawa United topped Group A with 7 points winning two matches and drawing one, while Plateau United came out tops in Group B with 6 points winning 2 matches and losing one.
The finals will hold on Sunday.

Remain Calm, IBB International Golf Club Tells Members

It was an unusual scenario Saturday morning as the security agencies comprises of Police and DSS stormed the club, asking staff and members to vacate the club house and course.
While reacting to the incident, the release signed by Ibrahim Alhassan Babayo, the Captain of the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja, described the incident as unfortunate and unexpected.
Ibrahim Babayo accused some minority members with vested interest who collaborated with some security men to seal the club in an attempt to disrupt the scheduled Extra-ordinary General Meeting of the Club.
The release urged everyone to remain calm, assured them that all necessary legal steps will be taken to ensure that the process of filing the Board of Trustees, BOT, vacancies is conducted correctly despite the attempts to derail the process.
The Captain said the club will not relent in its efforts to ensure fairness, transparency and due process prevail.
While assuring the members of continued support and trust, the statement asked the staff and members to await further instructions.
