Volleyball: Games Village VC, OFFA VC to Rumbles At 2023 AIVC Final, Thursday

Games Villages Volleyball Club on Wednesday Zoomed to the final of 2023 Abuja invitational Volleyball Challenge after beating their counterpart Scorpion  Spiker 3-0 in the 3 set  (25-23) (25-22) and (25-12).


Also, In the second semi-final Game, OFFA Volleyball Club beat the  Defence Spikers 3-1 ( 25-20) (19-25 ) (28-25) (28-26).


The two teams, Games Village Volleyball Club and OFFA Volleyball Club will now rumbles in the final of the 2023 edition of the championship inside the Indoor basketball hall of Moshood Abiola Stadium packed B in Abuja in the evening.


While Scorpion Spikers and Defence Spikers will play in the third place Game on Thursday before the final game.


The 12th edition of the tourney put in place by Chairman of Nigeria Park Volleyball Commission, Major General Taritimiye Gagarigais serious battle among the 50 participating teams in Male and female categories, though some teams are out of the competition but not down as the tourney has been adjuded as one of the best so far in the history of volleyball basketball competition.

Speaking shortly after the semi final games on Wednesday in Abuja, the sponsor of Abuja Invitational Volleyball Challenge Maj Gen Gagariga expressed that the initiative is purely developmental.


He said the joy of the challenge is to see upcoming players showcase their talents for the technical department of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation to identify.

On the eve of the closing ceremony alone, Ghana clinched eight gold medals, winning the ultimate prize in women’s hockey, 200m men’s athletics event, high jump, men’s football event, and four boxing gold medals in boxing. All in one night.

Ghana also made history by becoming the first country to win god in both men’s and women’s football events at the Games.

The closing ceremony of the Games saw star performances from star acts such as Stonebwoy, Stanley Enow, Wiyaala, Innoss’B, amongst others.

As Ghana continues its upward trajectory in the realm of sports, the nation stands poised to achieve even greater milestones under the visionary leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Sports minister, Mustapha Ussif.
