Volleyball: GHS battles Apata Ajele in Inter Secondary School finals

Government High School (GHS), Adeta will face Apata Ajele Secondary School, ASA in the finals of the through to Kwara State Inter Secondary School Volleyball Competition on Friday.
The finals will be played at the indoor sports hall of Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin by 3pm.
Government High School (GHS) beat University of Ilorin Secondary School 2-0 (25-20, 25-7) in the first semifinals match while Apata Ajele Secondary School, ASA defeated Erinile Secondary School 2-0 (25-20, 25-21) in the second semifinals match on Thursday.
An elated coach of Government High School, Abdul-Lateef Saheed told newsmen that the players played according to his instructions throughout the competition.
Saheed said he is an Ex student of GHS, Adeta adding that since he left, he decided to assemble children to play the game of volleyball
“I thank God for the opportunity to enter into the finals because no can do it except from God. The boys do train regularly and it is what I taught them they are displaying.
“I formed this team because I am an Ex Student of Government High School (GHS), Adeta; since I finished secondary school I decided to form the team and train them.
“I strongly believe GHS can win the competition because I am confident of what I taught them during training”.
In the third place match, Erinile Secondary School meets University of Ilorin Secondary School for the bronze medal by 1:30pm.

Mavlon FC arrives Europe on 21 days training tour

The management of Mavlon FC have taken another giant stride in the development of her players by embarking on a training tour in Europe.
The team led by the chief coach, Muyiwa Showole, comprised of players and other officials, arrived Bulgaria on a training tour of 21 days that will see Mavlon FC play friendly games with some clubs in the Eastern European country.
In May, Mavlon FC were guests of Golden Eaglets at the FIFA goal project, Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja when they engaged the National U 17 team of Nigeria in a friendly game, which witnessed sublime football artistries from both sides all through 90 minutes.
The team displayed strong football qualities despite losing 1-0 to the Eaglets.
24 hours later, Mavlon FC were too formidable for Tiki Taka academy, beating the team at their home ground in Abuja 1-0 in another friendly game played in Abuja Al geared into putting the team is great shape ahead of the training in Bulgaria, Europe.
It is also interesting to note that Mavlon FC has Stephen Emmanuel, one of the players of the victorious Golden Eaglets team that won the WAFU B U17 tournament last Friday, making the training tour of the team.
