We Are committed to Volleyball’s growth-Engr Nimrod

The President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) Musa Nimrod has expressed that the Federation is committed to bring more growth and development to the game of Volleyball in the country.


He stated this at Jabi Lake in Abuja at the second phase of the Nigeria Beach Volleyball Tour. where over 15 clubs Male and female categories are slugging it out in an fierce battle. 


According to him, we are committed to the development of the sport in the country and we do our best to organise more competitions.

We did the first tour in Yola ,now the second tour in Abuja and the third tour will come up in Lagos before the end of the year.


“We must continue to make them busy with competition so that they will well fit for any international tournament and especially qualifiers.”


Speaking on 2024 Olympic, Engr Nimrod saidthe Federation will work hard to secure a ticket for to Paris for the 2024 Olympics.

“We want to break the jinx this time around, on the roads to Rio de Janeiro in 2016 Olympics Nigeria beach  women came second.


On the road to Tokyo  2020 Olympics in Japan, Nigeria women came second again.
“We are believing God by the grace of God we have to break the jinx and we must  secure a ticket to Paris that is our desire before 2024,” Nimrod said.


He therefore said that the major challenge facing the Federation is lack of sponsorship.


“We are praying that God will open door for us to have sponsors  so that the third phase will come to fulfilment.


“The present members of NVBF are doing their best , they are contributing this event is hundred percent sponsor by NVBF.”

NEDC Disowns Circulating MSc Education Support Fund Application

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has warned the public against a fake and unauthorised message circulating on social media about an alleged Education Support Fund for Master’s degree (MSc) students.


The Commission, in a disclaimer signed by its management on Friday, described the purported programme, including its stated requirements and the alleged submission point at the NEDC office in Polo, Maiduguri, as false and unauthorised.


According to the Commission, it is not currently receiving applications for any MSc Education Support Fund as contained in the circulating message.


NEDC therefore urged prospective applicants and other members of the public to disregard the information and avoid submitting personal documents to individuals or locations claiming to be acting on behalf of the Commission.

It specifically cautioned the public against releasing sensitive documents such as National Identification Number (NIN) slips, admission letters, identity cards and indigene certificates in connection with the purported programme.

The Commission further warned the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent schemes and the unauthorised use of NEDC’s name and identity to deceive unsuspecting applicants.

It advised members of the public seeking information on its programmes, interventions and opportunities to rely only on official NEDC communication channels and verified announcements issued by the Commission
