Why We’re Using Gymnastics to Lure Children into Sports-Asuquo

The founder of TIG Tony International Gymnastics Club, Coach Anthony Asuquo has revealed that initiatives tagged “Her Fun Day System Mag and Wag Gymnastic Tournament” remain an avenue to get more children into sports.
To this end, over 300 less privileged children at the weekend in Abuja got the opportunity to compete in this year edition of the event.
The Gleamer News reported that the children could not hide their excitement at the prospect of rubbing shoulders with their peers, while some of them were provided with a chance of learning the rudiments of the sport and a lot of fun activities.
As expected, the event indeed meets its purposes as children were seeing visibly happy with the event.
The event will feature fun games like Beauty pageant ‘Bouncing Castle’ ‘Blind Folding’ Dancing competition and other Gymnastic programs.
The most fun part of the game is when its turn of a beauty pageant for children who were looking extremely beautiful entertains the crowd to the stupor.
Also, the like of Wazobia FM Guru popularly known as Expensive, Solomon Lange, Styl Plus “Olufumi” Makoyor and host of Artists set the venue ablaze with their excellent display.
Speaking with Journalists the founder of TIG International Gymnastics Club, Coach Asuquo said that “Her Fun Day System Mag and Wag Gymnastic Tournament is initiative to lure both the rich and poor children into sports.
He promised not to relent in his strive toward grooming Nigeria gymnasts that would make the country proud.
According to Federation International Gymnastics (FIG), a certified Coach; Fun Day event is an avenue to expose both the rich and less privileged children to the sports.
“We need more athletes to do sports to enable us to reduce the high rates of molestation, drug trafficking and the rest of the crimes in the society.
“At the same time, we are trying to get them psychologically to the stadium, the structures, the facilities in the stadium because many of them don’t know about the stadium that exists for them to come and do sports and represent their state, national and better their life.”
“We did not limit the event to the rich people children alone, it’s for both rich and poor, we don’t want to bring demarcation between rich and poor.
However, at the end of 2019 her fun day event, many children won a lot of prizes and some souvenir, amongst others.
